Rock Band: a Canadian fiasco

From Ars Technica: "The Canadian version was originally slated to be released alongside the American version, then later delayed, and delayed again, and for some retailers delayed yet again. The potential Christmas present has become more rare than the Nintendo Wii around these parts".

Walmart in Saskatchewan has limited quanities of Rockband from what I saw today.

You only have one Walmart in the entire province of Saskachewan ??

588,276.09 square kilometres (227,134.67 sq mi) and a population of 1,003,299

That is a huge amount of travel for many folks to get to Wally World

:-)

On our local electronic classifieds, it is funny to watch the STUPID AMOUNT of money some folks thing they will be getting for RB.

Many have having bid offs on RB and in the add saying they don't even have it yet, but they SHOULD.

Highest asking price yet (with no bids) --> $500

WAY TO FUNNY

This sucks, I went to a store in West Edmonton Mall yesterday and they were selling rock band for ps3 for 500$, and the funny thing is the xbox version was sold out so that means someone bought it

Mikey_Gee3410d ago

Is that even legal ??

I know if I buy one, as a non-retailer selling it from a individual to an individual I can get away with that, but I think retailers doing it can get is some major crap.

By any chance was it that store near the Ice Palace? Because I went into that store and there were dozens of boxes of Rock Band inside. No wonder there were so many.

Oilers Fan3410d ago

I think it is seeing as how they have been selling wiis for 500, and games are more expensive there too its 90 dollars for mass effect. I am pretty sure it is legal. And yea it was that store by ice palace i think its called play me

That store is the biggest rip off gig going around. Everything not only cost more there, it cost waaayyyy more there.

It's in a high walk through area, and catches the poor uneducated and unsuspecting parents, uncles, aunts and grandparents who want to by poor "Billy" his new game at a hugely inflated price.

I still don't know how they have stayed in business so long, it's been there as long as I can remember.

Just order it off Amazon.com

It's free delivery and the Canadian dollar is really strong.

clevernickname3410d ago

amazon.com will not deliver electronics to Canada, but amazon.ca does.

Believe me, I've tried. *shrug*

Friday afternoon, I was at a FUTURESHOP in Laval, near Montreal and I was able to buy one (200$) for my PS3. I will spare you the story, but let me tell you that I was at the right place at the right time.

I have heard that they were suppose to receive somes RB bundles at the WALLMART in St-Jerôme this week too. I guess that if you make the right call at the right place, you might be lucky too.

Good luck!

Mart
