1UP's Lost Planet preview - Capcom brings its winter wonderland to PS3

1UP got their hands on Lost Planet this week and spent some time with what it does best: shooting all holy hell out of big-ass monsters. And as fun as that was, as expected, this PS3 port is a familiar expedition, complete with the Xbox 360 original's problems.

Put side by side on identical HDTVs, the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions looked and played very similarly; 1UP noticed only nitpicky graphical differences. And while it's encouraging that not much got lost in the translation, they have to wonder why the game didn't get any better, either.

Again if you like Mech games or games with giant crazy boss battles I would recommend you getting the game plus its on budget price and certain sites might have it even cheaper (check Amazons different vendors for example)

I'll have to pass on this because I already have it for the 360. I didn't like it anyway it was very disappointing, plus after reading many previews for it they said it was really bad even worser the the 360 version.

Er, no previews came out for actual gameplay, this is actually the first. However, all of the screens I've seen have shown that the textures for the PS3 version are complete garbage. Now either Capcom fixed it up or 1up is blind because textures that crappy are not nitpicky differences.

any time you port from an inferior system to a greater one, you are bound to have problems

ThaGeNeCySt3774d ago

Never noticed any problems porting from PS2 to xbox.

I dont care if your sony or microsoft all have to disagree with bill.....Thats the most illogically retarded startment ever....

When you port from an inferior thing to an superior you dont have problems......its the other way around...

Capcom is very money driven now and if they decided to actually put time and effort into this port it would in fact be $60 dollars.

How about that librarian article which said the PS3 had few budget games?
Lost planet ps3 is starting at $40. This is a another game of the many that debunks that claim.

Capcom has always been money driven. What people don't understand is that they are like EA. Only difference is their games are better than most of the crap EA puts out. Case in point. Capcom milks every single franchise that they own, Lost Planet included.

This is a budget game? That's cool. I've heard very mixed reviews, but for $40 I suppose it's worth a try.
