GameSpot- Dynasty Warriors Next Review

GameSpot- On paper, aspects of Dynasty Warriors Next may sound fairly deep and involved, requiring some clever strategy to succeed. Sadly, this isn't the case. Battles are won by mashing on the square button a lot, occasionally throwing in some strong attacks or musou abilities. This is true to the series and should appeal to the audience these games often sell to.

If this is your first Dynasty Warriors or you've been away from the series for a while, you might start off feeling pretty good about it. Sure, you're mashing one button a lot, but mowing down tons of enemies makes you feel powerful, and it's fun. But then it goes on for hours and hours with nothing really changing. It may be enough for those who want mindless action, but if you want something deeper, you have no reason to come to the Three Kingdoms.

It looks like they should have tried a tad bit harder with this game.

ElementX2038d ago (Edited 2038d ago )

Aren't they all basically the same anyway? I only played one of them but that was enough.

Dynasty Warriors Next is a good game.
IGN gives a 8/10

Can't say a game is good just from one review.

Coltrane_C2038d ago

IGN gave it an 8/10 i would trust IGN Sony team over Gamespot

rezzah2038d ago

It isn't the company you should trust, but the individual reviewer.

Look for those who have reasonable opinions rather than narrow-minded views.

ElementX2038d ago (Edited 2038d ago )

So when IGN gives a Sony console game a bad review people rip them but when they praise a game they're to be trusted?

Baka-akaB2038d ago (Edited 2038d ago )

Except ign basically gave BS review for a rather similar and recent dynasty warrior gundam title , so screw them .

The author had no qualm display how much disdain he got for the franchise as a whole and spent more time on that than the game itself .
And the company had no issues publishing the stuff without reading it so ...

Gspot is hardly any better , mind you

I think they should try something else. Dynasty Warriors feels like a tired series after all these years.

Majin-vegeta2038d ago

Actually no they just need to utilise the whole battlefield i got some ideas that would make DW even better.

NeXXXuS2038d ago

well i think so... maybe Dynasty Warriors, IN THE FUTURE?!?!

svoulis2038d ago

Gamespot never even liked the PSP what makes anyone think they would give a decent game a good score...compare all there Vita reviews to other websites..

Just saying..

This guy obviously doesn't like this series, at least not anymore. For fans, this game seems unbelievably good for a handheld. Actually, it looks nearly identical to it's console counterparts.
