Duke Nukem: What did we really see?

CVG writes:

"E3 2001. Incredibly, until yesterday that was the last time 3D Realms chose to publicly show Duke Nukem Forever in video form. Six whole years ago. We've had to wait and wait and wait for the developer to role out new media. But what has this week's teaser trailer really shown us?

First, it's important to note that 3D Realms' George Broussard has gone on record stating that the trailer is in-game and in-engine footage, sticking a pin in and popping the 'it's all CGI' talk bubble."

what we saw was pure unadulterated awesomeness, the kind of stuff that made me proud to be a gamer in the 90s, back in the golden age of gaming.

DNF can't come any quicker, Duke is just the guy that we need to kick arse and chew bubblegum

I remember when the first info was coming out about this when I was back in my teens. I think the franchise still holds interest but the expectations for this game are going to exceed that of even Halo 3. This game is going to be critiqued for all it is worth and it's going to be compared to every other game on the market regarding "if it measures up."

Do we know any information about if it's a FPS? Third person?
I wonder if it will be rated M or Adult, the content in Duke Nukem 3D was enough to make some parents choke.

So much going on in that trailer, such varied gameplay/enviroments/character s etc. Something tells me we won't be seeing that in the "new" game. The so called "Next-gen" FPS's rarely show that kind of depth and diversity anymore. They'll probably turn it into an 8 hours short corridor fest! :(

Hope I'm proven wrong soon enough with a proper trailer!?
