Zelda Informer reviews the various incarnations the Pokémon series has gone through over the years, discussing their strong points and weak points. Which is the best? Only the fans can tell.
Gen 2 since it is the one I grew up with. My cousin and I still got our GBCs with both version. Every once in a while I pop the old gameboy color out and play it for a few minutes.
I love the Gold/Silver games because once you beat the new region, you got to go back and replay the entire region, plus badges, plus Elite Four from the original Red/Blue.
Any version of Gen 1 and Gen 2 are my favorites.
Red was the 1st game I remember playing and beating. Definitely my first RPG so I have to say 1st gen. I do love them all though.
It will always be the Kanto region for me.
Same with me. I loved the second generation but I'll never forget the feeling I had when playing Pokemon Blue for the first time.
Ill go with the second generation it took everything from the first one and made it better.
It has to be 1 or 2. I'm leaning towards 2 because it let's you visit Kanto after the events of the first game, which was pretty special.
Mines would be 3rd generation. That's when they really started getting creative with the type mixes.
Totally agree. 3rd had some of the best pokemon design as well, IMO. And it had Kyogre ^_^
Yeah, that was when the games started getting a lot deeper and more strategic, too with all the held items etc etc
Kyogre is a mother****ing boss. My favorite legendary period.
2 or 1...i liked yellow but the 2nd gen was great.
Im A huge fan of gen 2, loved gen 1 but my parents didn't let me play video games until i was 14 and on my birthday they got me my first system which was a gameboy color and it came with crystal version! I've played every single last version and even at one point did some tournaments(which took the fun outa Pokemon for me because EV training is a pain in the ass). But nothing gave me the feel of being a Pokemon master as much as gen2. Not to mention it has the hardest boss out of all the pokemon games! Senior RED or ash.
Personally gen 3 because i liked all the new things they added in the game (double battles and abilities in example) Gen 3 also has my favorite pokemon Jirachi. This being said gen 2 would be a really close 2nd. If there's one gen i truly hated it was gen 5(mostly because it felt like a step back from what hg/ss was) it's not that black&white doesn't have a good story it's just that alone can't make up for what they removed from gen 5,plus alot of ppl claim other gens have bad pokemon designs well gen 5 is by far the worst imo.
Generation 2, but they are all great. Gen 2 gave us held items, dark and steel pokemon, and two regions! Heart Gold/Soul Silver made me feel like a kid all over again.
Removing the nostalgia glasses I would have to say Gen. 4. Playing through Pearl was almost as comparable of an experience to when I first played through Pokemon Crystal. The region, themes, gym battles, Elite 4, legendaries, etc.; I just loved everything about that game. White is good, but it doesn't hold a candle to Pearl.
I'm OG b****! Second gen was good too though :P
