cod isnt a game changer, not when its on 5 systens

MaxXAttaxX4448d ago (Edited 4448d ago )

You can take that literally and be an ass (like on every Vita article).
Or you could provably imagine that COD on the PS Vita will be a more unique game (using Vita functions).
Or maybe it's just a regular COD game.

Vita has comparable graphics and gameplay, controls and multiplayer not found on previous handheld COD titles.

And whether it's a unique game or multiplatform... does it matter?
IT'S GOOD PUBLICITY FOR THE VITA EITHER WAY.

Knight_Cid4448d ago

am I an ass? Or am I tellign the truth. It hurts huh.

"Vita has comparable graphics and gameplay, controls and multiplayer not found on previous handheld COD titles. "

irrelevant, irrelevant, irrelevant, irrelevant. The uncharted om vita had all of that and it isnt breaking any preorder records or anything

BubloZX4448d ago

@Knight_Cid Uncharted isn't COD in terms of sales bro. People buy consoles just because of COD. COD is a game changer for the ps vita in west compared to other handhelds like the iphone or the 3ds.

MaxXAttaxX4447d ago (Edited 4447d ago )

"The truth" is apparently whatever you interpret it to be.
You're the only one in these articles saying the same sh**.

Also, Uncharted isn't COD. ALL COD games are ports / multiplatform and that hasn't affected its sales or appeal.
If you want to dismiss the points I made above and be stubborn, then fine.

It's like you literally don't want something that's good for the Vita to happen.

mbsaeger4448d ago

I totally disagree. Although COD itself may not be a game changer -- FIRSTY think of COD mobile on this extremely powerful device, imagine console-like COD in your hands. Secondly it can also be a game changer because COD has not been multiplayer on a mobile device before. I can totally see COD on the vita as a game changer because now we can all have the PS3 experience of COD with us at all times and online.

Knight_Cid4448d ago

You really need to understand the history of mobile games.

The power of the device is irrelevant, a port of a console game is irrelevant when its been on handhelds before, multiplayer is irrelevant.

Was uncharted vita a game changer? Hell it had the lowest preorders of any uncharted game.

Think logically. Nobody wants to buy a vita for ps3 ports. Sony has said this. Thats counter to there strategy.

A port of a ps3 experience of COD at all times and online will not sell well if its on the ps3

BubloZX4448d ago

@mbsaeger

I agree completely with you.

@Knight_Cid

You need to understand the history of game francises. COD since it's debut has managed to help spark console sales dramatically. While uncharted is an amazing franchise it pales in comparison to COD in terms of sales. All the vita needs to have mass appeal is release a GT game and Monster hunter and it is pretty much a done deal. With monster hunter and GT the vita stands a chance at outselling the 3DS in japan on a weekly bases. With GT, COD, and Fifa the vita will begin to over take it's competitors in Europe. COD and sports games like madden and 2k games will help it perform well in America. Just because you may not like the vita or can afford one doesn't mean it won't sell to it's targeted audience which Sony stated is adult males with a ps3. I'm 21 and I have 3 ps3's and the vita has appealed greatly to me and that's why I bought it. And it's better than the 3DS by far in my opinion, all I play on it is freakin pokemon and Zelda lol.

Shackdaddy8364447d ago (Edited 4447d ago )

I agree w/ you knight. I mean, I don't think CoD will fail on PSVita, but it definitely won't be a console mover. It's just like CoD for the wii (maybe not as extreme though).

If they make a whole separate CoD game specifically for the Vita then ya, I could see that being big (I HIGHLY doubt that will ever happen though). But, a straight Cod port to the Vita that's exactly like the console version won't be the game changer that people think it is...

Denethor_II4447d ago

I found a new cure for trolling. It seems that when you fail to acknowledge the troll, the troll simply disappears.

The reason ipod/pads work for most people is there simplicity, so in that way I suppose it can compete. But I personally will own an ipod and a Vita, I don't think they're really sharing the same market.

tmanmushroom4448d ago

I feel like the Vita has a lot of potential, and games like CoD and MGS will help tap into it

nevin14448d ago

i don't like touch screen.

one2thr4448d ago (Edited 4448d ago )

You do know that it has buttons and two analog sticks... And a "Touch-pad"... Right?...

nevin14448d ago

But you can't you use them for menu navigating.

MySwordIsHeavenly4448d ago

I'm with you, nevin1. Why just touch the app you want to go to...instead of navigating through the menu with buttons, making sure your app is highlighted, and hitting "x"?

They just make it too easy...

one2thr4448d ago

If people complain enough, Sony will eventually make an update for that...

360GamerFG4448d ago

Still doesn't change that he doesn't like the touch screen now does it?

one2thr4448d ago (Edited 4448d ago )

No, no it doesnt... But i guess if you give people the right to complain, it also gives them the right to complain about something meaningless... If he doesnt like "touch-screen" then he doesnt have to touch, but instead use it for its intended purpose, and that is to interact with all and any porposed operations that occur... Or if not he'll be suck staring at the time and date on the screen. I guess that counts as fun too right?

LX-General-Kaos4448d ago

Am i hearing about COD in a positive light again from posters? Something must be in the water today.

360GamerFG4448d ago

Yes, the fact that it is on a SONY platform and will help said platform sell units.

LX-General-Kaos4448d ago

Reasons like this is why i continue to come to this site. If you are having down time theres always hypocritical entertainment to be found on this site.

PopRocks3594448d ago

Not to be a stiff, but why is this appearing in the Wii U section...?

Players claim Fortnite ruined Call of Duty by letting in more corporate greed

Do you remember what gaming was like before Fortnite entered the gaming space? One of the biggest arguments was about loot boxes. Now we have conversations about crossovers, battle passes, and community outreach.

Idk. Loot boxes did disappear and battle passes and in game purchases are all cosmetic. We get free weapons and maps post launch, any gameplay affecting content. I could care less about all the cosmetics.
I absolutely hated the days where weapons were locked behind a less than 1% chance lootbox pull where it'd take 5+ hours to have enough tokens to do a single pull and lazy remastered/remake maps cost you $15 each wave or $50 for the season pass that you didn't know what you'd get and these maps were only available to those that bought it so you get a smaller pool of players match with.

Tacoboto6d ago

The "good ole days" are actually what drove me away from COD and Halo 3/Reach. Halo 4 becoming a COD-like drove me away from that only a week or so after it launched and I beat its campaign.

It sucked way back then, going a month or two without playing online-shooter-of-the-moment, and then needing to buy a $15 map pack to play with the majority of the population or your favorite playlist. The "community" rejecting Spartan Points in MCC killed that game's support, too. No revenue = no support, plain and simple.

Cacabunga6d ago

That headline could easily be something Spencer could have said 😅 I had to check if it was really an opinion piece

KyRo6d ago

As times gone on, the COD battle pass has got ALOT worse so they can push people to buy the more premium battle pass which itself is a huge rip off and nearly half the price of the base game.

The cosmetics can be fine but they've taken it to far to the point of no return. Why make a military themed game then have rabbits, dinosaurs, cats, rats & z list rappers as skins? You wouldn't add a Lamborghini to a fantasy RPG to replace a horse and you would never see Mario have limb dismemberment because they know what they are. COD is having identity crisis but kids and streamer but then all

franwex6d ago (Edited 6d ago )

Call of duty can simply not copy the bad aspects of Fortnite? Or is that too out of this world? Like COD, a realistic shooter-just HAD to have Nicki Minaj running around? Or super heroes?

Inverno6d ago (Edited 6d ago )

Exactly! Trends don't all need to be followed. Plus where Fortnite got somewhat better with it's monetization, Acti got worse. Or at least Fortnite has lended itself more to the wacky stuff, and has put more effort and quality into that stuff.

jjb19816d ago

I prefer the battle passes with free maps than the $50 season pass that divided the community. I definitely feel that Fortnite had some influence on CoD having loot boxes with Blackout being introduced in 2018 with Black Ops 4.

PRIMORDUS6d ago (Edited 6d ago )

Actually Fortnite bullshit ruined Unreal Tournament. Epic are sellouts and I will never have that shitty store on my PC, fuck them and that shit bag Tim Sweeney. At least the community keeps the games alive, I still play UT2004.

StoneTitan6d ago

I mean cant really blame them for supporting the game that made them the most money and the most people player...ever?

Psychonaut856d ago

Call of Duty ruined Call of Duty. They needed no outside assistance.

Ra30305d ago

100% correct! The makers of Call of Duty ran out of ideas long, long ago so they take ideas from other games like Ghost Recon, Fortnite and any other FPS game hat had success hell CoD remasters maps that they've remastered several times already then charge you again for it. Call of Duty is simply a cut, copy and paste and then put the $70 price on it every year. Activision and now Microsoft has been essentially remastering Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare every year since it was released in 2007 its to the point it's worse than the sports game like the Madden, NBA and others yearly sports franchises.
@Psychonaut85 is spot on "Call of Duty ruined Call of Duty. They needed no outside assistance"!

Morons that allow themselves to be milked continuously by this company is the definition of irony.
Spend more $$ and you'll end up In easier lobbies so you win both ways when ya spend that cash

melons13d ago

Controversy in the COD community feels like it happens within an alternate timeline. Activision will take the piss with something, there will be a momentary fuss about it, and then they will forget about it and carry on anyway. Repeat this cycle literally every year for the rest of time.

Gridknac13d ago

They call that a crack head! Thats what this is really about, its an addiction. People who dont smoke cigarettes look and laugh at the addicts that spend $8-$10 a pack, but they cant help themselves, they are addicted. That same analogy applies perfectly to the whole MT industry. Only an addict that was not thinking clearly would spend this kind of money on something so frivolous. A round of multiplayer provides the same high a person gets from scratching a lotto ticket, or putting money on a sports bet. MT in general need to really be regulated because you have a generation of kids becoming adults who grew up only knowing the MT era of gaming. Its normal to them and they will in turn teach their kids the same by just being a gaming parent and getting their kids involved with them in gaming. Thats why no matter how ridiculous the headlines keep getting out of the MT industry, it never seems to fade or go away.

X-2312d ago

I'm so tired of hearing about what they're doing with this game, its never going to change and it's never going to value the consumer over money, furthermore the people who engage so heavily in the microtransactions I guess allegedly are having a blast and can't wait to do it some more this year when the new version of the game drops.
