Best Videogame Ending Ever!

The thing is, for all of my belly aching, the fact remains that the good folk at Guinness didn’t vote Black Ops number one – the people did. So, the real question I guess we should all be asking is – who exactly did Guinness ask?

Killzone 2 best ending ever IMO.

when i look at the cutscene ending Killzone 2 , i thought it was rendered. The In-game engine is very high end. Sony is gifted!

Ocarina of Time has the most epic ending. Super Mario Galaxy 2 had the most satisfying ending in any video game ever. Not just my personal opinion, almost everyone who played the game gave it a 10/10 score in 2010... As for the most entertaining ending, i dunno... maybe Portal or Portal 2 :P

What a load of crap. Halo: Reach is at number 2 while Shadow Of The Colossus is at 24? Seriously? Reach had one of the single worst storylines I've ever seen. It was predictable from midway to the finale while Shadow Of The Colossus had a shocking ending that made you question your motives. And Modern Warfare 2? Seriously? A goddamn half assed and unsatisfying cliffhanger is deserved to be number 3? Hell most of the games listed there had crap or just mediocre endings. Games like Portal 1, Mass Effect 2 (since it's the midgame of a trilogy), Fallout 3 just shouldn't be on a list like this.

Killzone 2's ending was kinda meh. It reminded me of the movie "Equilbrium"s ending. You were suppose to be shocked over that the good guy shot the bad guy without a life or death struggle.

I can't even remember Cod: BO's ending so I guess it wasn't that good.

Halo Reach was a mediocre halo crapfest for kids. Can't remember the ending either.

Haven't even played MW2, I stopped supporting the series after MW1.

MGS4's ending and Dark Souls ending is by far! Much better than anything I've seen. MGS4 still has a better ending than Dark Souls though.

Pro tip: Go for the game with the ending that actually made some people cry afterwards. Or at least touched emotionally.

Call of Duty: Black Ops had one of the worst storylines in videogame history, why? Because it shamelessly stole plot points and even entire scenes from popular and critically acclaimed films/Novels such as The Deer Hunter and Fight Club.

My opinion...KH1 and KH2 had some of the best, most satisfying endings in terms of gaming. KH1 ending was sad but fitting. KH2 ending was happy but there was still so much more to do. Again, all opinion...no one ending is factually better than another.

I am in complete agreement. Kingdom Hearts games know how to end on a great note. Seriously KH1, KH2 and Birth by Sleep I cried at the end. And I never cry for any games. I am just waiting for Nomura and his team to finish Versus XIII so I can play another great game and story from him and so he can hurry and start working on Kingdom Hearts III!!!!

Hi, im 14 and this list is outrageous it infuriates me how the likes of activison can just buy there way through the gaming industry. you all say that 16 and less play call of duty, WRONG! call of duty in my opinion is the worst game on the planet, Call of shitty. who plays this shit any more games are becoming a totally different from which they begun, there is no powerful grip on story no character love its all multi-player i buy games for there experience for example roaming a beautiful Venice bulding my assassin army, or single-handedly taking over mars with a hammer or leaving new york in ruins with my over the top powers or just simply dressing up as a toilet battering people in town named steelport. this is what games are about, the experience. my thanks go to rockstar for there red dead ending, the ever so powering assassins creed endings though the games dont change the endingss are great. thankyou for reading and i leave you with my top ten endings...

I'm sorry, but I've played alot of games in my life & I don't even think of some of the games on that list endings.

But, yeah, 'best' ending is highly subjective. For ex; I realized that alot of game endings that have impacted me is those of when I was younger (still can't get Mega Man 3 ending music out of my head, Lol).
I think that best endings need to be categorized, best satisfying ending, best shocking ending, best heroic ending, etc.
My Top 5 endings (off the top of my head, no order)

Mega Man 3 (Duh. I thought that was the last one -_-)
Final Fantasy 10
Kingdom Hearts 1 (when you walk away...)
Metal Gear Solid 2, 3 or 4 (please don't make me choose)
Scheherazade (look it up. This game falls under the satisfying & underrated. It trumps Zelda 1 & 2, IMO).
