French Style Tax Credits May Not Work in UK

While the EC recently approved France's proposal for studio tax credits, theoretically paving the way for other EU countries to jump on the bandwagon, both the UK government and ELSPA believe such incentives may not work in Britain.

The French move to enable tax breaks similar to those in Canada and Quebec could act as the model for similar UK legislation, but MCV reports that the UK government and the Entertainment and Leisure Software Publishers Association (ELSPA) are warning that following a similar route could prove troublesome, and lead to complications for the domestic industry.
