Small Console Communities Can Be a Good Thing

Splitkick: It’s no secret that developers are trying to extend the life of games any way that they can. Pick up almost any major console release and you’ll have a multitude of options when it comes to DLC, multiplayer modes, leaderboards, and online forums. The intent of all these things is to help develop and retain a community for the game; to “give it legs”. Unfortunately, the reality is that most communities shrink fairly quickly after their initial release with just a few rising to dominance each year. This is generally looked upon as a negative, but I’ve recently had a different experience.
