Ripten: "Many Europeans were impatient and imported Warhawk from the US. In fact my brother picked up Warhawk from the US and it works perfectly on my PAL Playstation 3, but we might now be shafted with region coding."
Free shafts for everyone , Merry Christmas
...a nice shaft waiting for you under the Christmas Tree for those impatient tools
Whenever I hear about these type of stories, I wonder how many REALLY actually import these games. Come on now, we're not talking about a system seller here. How many is.....many?
Mainly internet tards like me :)
I personally import every game I want if its more than two weeks delayed in Europe. But in this case it was on PSN so why wait the extra week when you could download it instantly cheaper on the US network. Its also cheaper to order the games from the US compared with the euro prices. A game in Denmark costs $100-$120.
They'll have it fixed in a few days :)
I agree with that. They are pretty good at fixing things.
It sounds to me like people should have been more patient. Problem solved.
Is it solved? Where? When? The article doesn't say they are shafted...it asks whether we are :)
lol My point was that maybe people should have waited and bought the game from their own region to avoid the problem from the start. On a side note, I don't blame you for being impatient because I would have done the same thing if I didn't live in the states.
Heh, Tethered. Next time a game comes out that you REALLY want. Don't buy it until the UK version is available and then you will know how we feel. =P
and bowling off the us site. hope I wont have any problems when purchasing dlc
@ Keowrath You got me wrong. I do understand.
Heh, it's all good mate. I saw your second post. Having imported games for the majority of my life I just felt I had to make a comment =)
Having to wait happens to all of us at some point or another. All the PSEye stuff you guys have gotten in the EU still hasn't made it over here to NA (besides Aquatopia & Operation Creature Feature...two forgettable d/ls). Everybody, but Japan, are waiting for GT Prologue. Normally the EU gets shafted most, but it still happens to all of us at some point.
when i first bought this game getting shot down everytime was not fun so i put it down for a month or 2 .just a coupled of months ago after beating uncharted and heavenly sword I started to play it and try it again and now i cant put it down . I think it was the part of flying that warhawk thats was frustrating me cause i couldnt control it . But since i got the hang of controlling the warhawk it has been a blast and these downloadable content is a plus . help : is there a reason why after 3 or 4 games i get booted also those asses that gave me the boot/ban for just wanting to play with you guys on your own server ( F. U )
Why would people bother to import the game anyway? It came out like 2 days after the US release on PSN, so to import a game just for the headset (it is cheaper to buy the PSN version and a headset separately anyway) is rediculous. Maybe it shows that some people arent ready to let go of disc-based products just yet.
No it didnt.
but correct me if i'm wrong but wasn't there a big kick over the drakes demo on the PSN been region coded on the PSN surely if it was available on the US PSN on the lots of people with US account could download it early
I recently bought Ut3 from a canadian site for 77$ delivery included, now it hasnt been released in sweden. But when it releases it will cost 108$, thats the average price for a new game here..
@ Bazookajoe_83 Wow, why is it so much there? Taxes? Edit: Nevermind, I should have scrolled down before I asked this question.
Shut yo mouth!
It sucks =( It´s the got damn taxes....
ok. i belong to the PAL region. i got the game from the American store. i downloaded the new pack from the american store and it's playing on my European ps3 right now.
I'm sure you realise that that is not the problem. You bought from the store both times....you are one of the lucky ones who can buy from the US store...most of us cannot. The problem is people who imported the disc game and are not sure whether they need to buy the US update...and if they do, they can't.
ohhhhh. now i get it :-O boy do i feel stup...... not smart. if any of you got an american express... it's American so it has to work.
didnt they both release at the same day at EU PSN??? and later as blu-ray
Hulk Smash companies that do region specific releases! My biggest peeve with my PS2 was that I was only ever able to get the original WRC here in Canada. They never bothered to release any of the sequels (of which there were like 3 or 4). I used to cry myself to sleep wishing I could play them. :P
Borehawk had to be one of the biggest money wasters this year. Not only was the much lauded headset a faulty piece of garbage, but I found a game that was inferior to the Battlefield series in every way, which I only payed a fraction of the price for. Sorry fandroids, but i'll stick to Xbox Live and Battlefield 2142 on my PC for my online gaming needs
The headset isn't faulty, Warhawk is my favorite online game ever. And you are Zhuk, so your comment is expected. What is the point of your life?
Thats only because youre a carrier of fanboyism gene, and cant acknowledge anything besides anything that plays on a Ms product. You go girl...
Deep, his point is to bash everything that has to do with Sony. I don't understand it at all. Childish really. I like the Evil Zhuk. http://www.n4g.com/up/24803... He is the exact opposite of this Zhuk. They kinda cancel each other out. lol
trust me... this game is gold.
Tethered, that is the funniest sh!t I've seen today. Zhuk is such a [email protected] that somebody needed to do that!
There's a way. I've been importing for years because I live in the UK and I got tired of waiting 6 months for a game I really wanted because of the region I live. I currently own. US Darkness and UT3 and HK Ninja Gaiden Sigma. I got an online credit card which allowed me to purchase the first DLC for NG:S and then the next 2 packs came out and the PSN wised up to online credit cards leaving me with no way of getting the next DLC. I had awesome fun with NG:S so I was extremely gutted to find I could not get the extra packs. Eventually I found a guy on Ebay that sells the PSN cards allowing you to just input a number to get stuff from other region stores. The guy sends you the number in an email. You don't actually recieve the card but you are ready to go buy stuff immediately and this worked perfectly. I don't know if US PSN cards are available yet or if they are going to be but if you try hard enough you'll find a way. Even if it's finding a fellow PS3 owner in the states who is willing to share their own files for payment...
PSN cards are on the way. They should be out early '08 from what the PSBlog posted (last week I think).
Sony once again drops a big smelly brick into the eager mouths of the Sony fanboys from Europe. How can anyone eat that much crap and still love Sony for it?
Because it's a brick that works. Not one of those other bricks that overheats and explodes.
I guessing your pretty pissed to see ps3 has a massive wargame that your lamebox360 can't handle. I'll bet you warhawk has more people playing right now, more than your beloved GALO3 & FEARS of WAR.....
Isn't because the game is broken. By any stretch of the imagination, it's exactly the opposite. Warhawk is so sought-after, that people are willing to accept international copies before they're officially released in their territory. (You don't want the yanks or Z-Lander's getting first dibs on Omega Dawn do Ya?) Of course not.
And keeps Annihilating....
