I was playing the vita at best buy for the first time today and this chick was like is it that ??
..... Anyways I got her number. "the vita is sexy and u get Bitches" >:D

50m should be the marketing for a game, a platform should be more like 500m

gamingdroid4449d ago

That is assuming a company is full of cash and highly profitable. Sony ain't so that's pretty generous.

T9004449d ago

Considering MS launched a gimmick like Kinect with a 500m USD budget i would think 50M isnt much at all.

zeeshan4449d ago (Edited 4449d ago )

LOL! That's exactly what I wanted to say! M$ with their 500mil budget and poor SONY with only 10% of what M$ could afford and that too for an entirely new platform!

My my! How time changes! I remember back in Sega Saturn and PSX days, that how PS marketing used to roll all over Sega's marketing. This is so the other way around. I am afraid 50 mil, in this day and age, is not enough. VITA is surely the BEST portable gaming device out there and it deserves every single sale that it can get and I hope for Sony and gaming industry's sake that VITA does well. Makes you wonder how much SONY will spend on PS4 and M$ on 720! Who's betting a billion dollar world wide campaign for 720?

saladthieves4449d ago

This is actually good news. There is no doubt that in terms of hardware quality, Sony always deliers. Their devices would always sell more or get more recognition if they were to be advertised more. I know of people who still don't know what the PS Move is.

An example is during the period in which Microsoft's Kinect was nearing launch. The media was flooded with Kinect adds. Here we are, less than 2 weeks away from the launch of the PS Vita and I've seen very few ads. Spending more on advertising this device is a step in the right direction. Until you've held the Vital in your hands you won't get how awesome it is!

MasterCornholio4449d ago

Now will the haters stop complaining that Sony will not market the device?

Its a shame the ad dnt show anything gaming related. A whole bunch of women will think the ps vita is a new nail salon!

360GamerFG4449d ago

Lets make a deal, if you stop putting that ridiculous signature at the end of every comment, I'll personally tell everybody's mom on the interwebs to stop hating on SONY.

dcortz20274449d ago

I can't believe it! It's nice to know that Sony will be marketing the PS Vita well, it's an increbile piece of technology that deserves the recognition of gamers and non gamers alike.

badz1494449d ago

that's like what? 1/10 of Kinect's?

Tales Of Graces Ƒ Retro Review – Holding Out For a Hero

Gary Green said: Namco Bandai heard the call of many fans asking for the PlayStation release of Tales of Graces which was originally released seemingly exclusively for the Wii back in 2009. If you’re acquainted with the Tales series then Graces f won’t be something entirely new to you, yet if you’re a newcomer then you’ll find a plethora of gameplay mechanics and nuances that distinguish this series from other JRPGs. While the game finds itself following the traditional archetype of JRPGs, such as a somewhat clichéd story, Graces has something to offer to both veterans and newcomers alike.

It's A Crime That There's No Sleeping Dogs 2 Yet

Huzaifah from eXputer: "Sleeping Dogs from the early 2010s is one of the best open-world games out there but in dire need of a resurgence."

LG_Fox_Brazil3d ago

I agree, I consider the first one a cult classic already

isarai3d ago

You say "yet" as if it's even possible anymore. United Front Games is gone, along with anyone that made this game what it is

CrimsonWing692d ago

That’s what happens when games sell poorly. And I’ve seen people wonder why people cry when a game sells badly… this is your answer.

solideagle2d ago

Majority of the time it's true but if a company/publisher is big (in terms of money), they can take a hit or 2. e.g. I am not worried about Rebirth sales as Square will make Remake 3 anyway but if FF 17 doesn't sell then Square might need to look for alternative. <-- my humble opinion

Abnor_Mal2d ago

Doesn’t Microsoft own the IP now since they acquired Activision?

DaReapa2d ago

No. Square Enix owns the IP.

Abnor_Mal2d ago

Oh okay, Activision owned True Crime, but when that didn’t sell as intended it was canceled. Six months later Square Enix bought the rights and changed the title to Sleeping Dogs.*

Sleeping Dogs was a sleeper hit back then. It was fantastic. It actually still is. Would love a sequel to this, or at least a revive of True Crime series.
