Lorehound takes a look at the upcoming action MMORPG TERA, which is currently in closed beta, and give their first impressions of the game so far.
Gorgeous indeed. Upgrade worthy.
Seriously.. This has my oddly spelled name written all over it.
The game was pretty, combat was kind of interesting, although the fact that there was no physical body customization was very off putting, since you'd have pretty boy faces with huge muscular bodies. It's just weird. However...the questing. Oh man the questing. Simply put, it's terribad. It's as generic of a grinder as you can get. I got up to lvl 17 and just didn't want any more of it. The "cutscenes" were also kind of awkward, kind of like the ones found in Aion. Really, I think the only reason why people are hyped for this is the combat and the fact that all they've been showing off is how much work they put into the character models...not so much the environments though.
wich is why i by default avoid it . Bot gonna get fooled again by some Lineage 1.5 with pretty makeup . Kudos if you do enjoy the imo boring grindfest , i know i dont . Let's not also forget how awful the balance usually is in lineage/aion . Wich is odd as the combat is usually advanced and the main interest .
Have you played TERA? You clearly haven't seeing as you're comparing it to Lineage and Aion. No-one is forcing you down any path, you're just to ignorant to see that TERA is a very different game to either of those two grind-fests. People like myself, who have actually played the game, will buy it and enjoy it.
I clearly stated that i havent tried it yet nor interested myself to it for fear of this . And obviously was sounding off about two other games . Doesnt mean i wont try it at some point to make up my mind .. i'm just reading an opinion there that alludes to it . Not even taking it yet as gospel so lay off your silly attack
@drosera You know they are being sued by ncsoft for stealing source code from lineage 3, right? Doesn't rly sound off to compare the two.
This game has been getting negative opinions in Asia due to the fact that is NOT grindy, which the Asian market like in their games. I have played the beta, and it never came across as a grind-fest, i have no idea what game you played.
