GR - "Bioware releases five new gameplay videos for Mass Effect 3."
Wow, GOTY right there!
On my second playthrough of ME2. Best rpg this gen definitely.
I loved Mass Effect 2 but best RPG of this gen? Sorry, but no. TBH, it felt more action than RPG.
An RPS "Role Playing Shooter" lol
I lol'ed when i saw customizability.
Wait so 4 player co op??
Yeah but it's a separate mode, not co-op campaign.
Awesome thanks for the info. I am actually very excited for this
Kai Leng in the "Ruthless and Intelligent Enemies" trailer. Cerberus assassin from the Mass Effect novels.
Best series this gen hands down!
HOT. DAMN. I need not see any more. Day 1!
Seeing lots and lots of action in the game, but I'm still wondering how BioWare handled the story component for the game. At least it seems that they improved things over the 2nd game, which was a step back for the series.
Shooting Explosions Stabbing Lasers Firing That's all I've seen of this game so far.
A fair enough statement, but to it's defense, it isn't very easy to showcase stats and roleplay elements, especially in a game like Mass Effect where the largest roleplaying element is the players choices in the dialogue-wheel that can greatly alter the course of the game. Sure, it has other roleplay elements. Customization and plenty of stats to play with - but these are not easily advertised things. I prefer the smooth action movements and combat rolls and fun execution moves being advertised than say, a dull stat screen showing level up options. Don't get me wrong, I love the roleplaying elements in Mass Effect, but stat screens are not entertaining to watch - unless they're YOUR characters stats that you're editing. Fun to do, but not fun to watch someone else do. That being said, they did do one advertisement video showcasing the choices in Mass Effect 3. It wasn't bad - but it wasn't great either. Again, the easiest thing to showcase is the action - and doing so generates more entertaining trailers for everyone. Mass Effect 3 features a ton more roleplay elements then Mass Effect 2, essentially it's returning more to it's roots and offering more customization like it did in the original Mass Effect. It hasn't been advertised a lot in trailers but believe me it is there. Just look around at the many articles that have been written on this matter, infact even one of these trailers, I feel, does a good job showing off some of those roleplay elements. More options in armor choices, more freedom on its appearance, more weapon customization, even the power system has been given a beautiful upgrade, offering more variation and choice than even the original Mass Effect did in that aspect.
Here's to hoping. That video was Gears of War without muscles.
Mass Effect is becoming a pop casual game like COD, sad considering how fantastic the first two were.
you mean "how fantastic the first one was."
ME1 perfect blend of rpg and shooter.
ME2 a shooter with the option to equip an armor set, thats about as deep as the rpg went. and the biotics were pointless, it was far easier to go through the game just shooting. ME1 forced you to use both.
now, ME2 was still a great game, but imo nowhere near the quality of the first. ME2 had much better graphics / higher production values and thats about as far as improvements went.
ME3 def looks better than two, if not a proper sequel to the second one. however i dont think it looks as good as 1 still. i beat ME1 5 times, couldnt bring myself to finish the second more than once.
still despite my rant and complaints, day one buy. aint like they're going to change it for me anyway, ill suck it up and deal.
You guys do understand that ME3 has more rpg features then ME1 , right?
i will just pray that it is more like me1 and not me2. me2 was fun but in no way is it as good as 1.
Still, the gameplay was a lot smoother in the second one. Playing the first, with it's frustrating melee, distracted companions and long weapon switches made replying it more frustrating then I first remembered it being before MEII. I just hope they successfully mix the better gameplay with the variety or guns and armors from the first as well as making upgrades an item and not a skill, like it was in the first
yes the game play was and me2 has alot better frame rate also. i dont think 2 was bad but i miss all the rpg stuff fron the first game. and it sucked that the lvl cap went from 60 to 30
Did you not see the customization video?
I'm not quite understanding all the shooter comments, the series was always a shooter. ME1 more so than 2. At the levels im at in both game, I can get through ME1 without ever using one biotic. It's used as a fun tool just to lift them in the air and see them flutter away in the wind. Then it's the story wasn't as good, really? I thought the second one gave the series bones, if it werent for ME2, i'd be thinking how in the hell is some aliens going to beat some god-like sentients with technology beyond comprehension. ME2 grounded the Reapers and made it alot more believable that they could be defeated, they need help and even some are being built.People cried cause ME1 was clunky, technical problems but good custimization people complained. ME2 fixed the tech problems, made it smoother to play and sacrificed a little customizing, people complained. Now 3 looks to bring even more polish, more action, deeper customizing than the first, and a GALACTIC WAR, and people complain. Enjoy this beast of a series.
