First Impressions: Twisted Metal - Push Square

Push Square: "Twisted Metal is an important brand for PlayStation veterans. Many will have fond memories of weekends spent with turbo-charged cars and homing missiles, settling disputes between friends and family. It’s a franchise that, like WipEout and Gran Turismo, is an important part of PlayStation’s iconography. And if a short hands-on with Eat Sleep Play’s upcoming reboot is anything to go by, it’s still awesome." (PS3, Twisted Metal )

To be quite honest I have been a fan of this particular series from the original iteration to the later Twisted Metal Black. In particular my favorite character was Mr. Slam due to his overpowered special attack. However, this whole recent debacle of David Jaffe to essentially steal the entire spotlight from the TM release by choosing this time to leave ESP has irritated me beyond belief. He has done this exact same thing to previous studios and franchises, which brings up several concerns. In my view its obviously an issue with him, rather than every other person or studio he has associated with. However, my main concern now lies in the future support of this franchise, including DLC, additional storylines, characters, etc. This whole scene that he has created has dissuaded me from my original purchase, regrettably.

I agree with you about Jaffe timing, but I think this won't affect TM future in any way. don't let this news stop you from enjoying the game you love, I used to pick up games just by looking at the cover without paying attention to the name, developers....etc.

I like Jaffe personality and opinions about the industry but I find this (surprise departures) very irritating. but still Jaffe is a legendary game designer and I have complete respect for him and his decision to leave ESP.
