Pete Hines hints at Skyrim's DLC, high resolution texture pack not coming to consoles

DSOGaming writes: "Skyrim was one of the most anticipated games of 2011 and as you’d expect, a DLC for it will be released this year. Although we don’t have any release date or juicy details about it, VP of PR and marketing for Bethesda, Pete Hines, hinted in his Twitter that a DLC is a ‘safe bet‘ and we should stay tuned for more. Bethesda will obviously focus on it now that both the Creation Kit and Patch 1.4 are out of the way, so expect some news about it in the coming weeks or months."

The consoles don't have enough RAM for the texture pack. Don't say "oh well uncharted has great graphics" yea it does but it doesn't render textures the same way skyrim does.

totally agree. This can also be spotted in 'The Last Of Us' where textures are of really low resolution, even though the game overall looks great

Are people really this dumb?

Of course it isn't...

Thats not title worthy

Baka-akaB2017d ago

lol Why is there even a title like this ? if consoles could support such textures anyway , there would be no need for each frickin pc game port to wait for HQ textures patches

soundslike2017d ago

or captain obvious shit like this:

"PC Port of Alan Wake has better graphics"

I believe everyone with a PS3 or Xbox 360 knew this. Well I hope they did lol

I know what my console can and can't do. I won't exaggerate

As had been said, I find this to be painfully obvious "news". What really surprises me is the amount of disagree votes I see here.

Do people REALLY think that consoles can handle these things? I mean, I love my PS3 (and love many games on 360), but it's ludicrous to think that our 6 year old consoles can handle things on an equal scale to a PC. It's just simply not viable.
