To what extent has Electronic Arts’ Star Wars: The Old Republic (SWTOR) been keeping users away from Activision Blizzard’s cash cow World of Warcraft (WoW)? Surprisingly little, according to traffic reports from leading independent community websites Curse (MMO-Champion) and ZAM (Wowhead).

The only thing capable of killing WoW is WoW itself. But by the time WoW is at the end of its life, Project Titan will come along and rape everything yet again.

Its possible to play both. I quit WoW for SWTOR and havent looked back, but a lot of people cant get away from the commitment to their characters. Im just having too much fun with SWTOR.

definitely. swtor is my first MMO so i can't claim any first-hand experience, but a lot of people in my guild are huge WOW players, and while some stopped their WOW subscriptions, most have been playing both avidly since swtor launch.

I can see this. Both games take place in two completely different backdrops. I prefer the space backdrop and I definitely love hacking down people with a saber. Maybe both can coexist and generate good competition along with good content.
