GameZone writes, "These are the games third-party devs should be making for the Wii U."
I'm not sure how easy ports to the WiiU are going to be, which could be a problem for support. Will they have to completely change things for controller screen support or just add things to support it? Either way it will be extra things to do if developing for 360,PS3 and PC as well.
All the devs have said that the WiiU is easy to develop for. Now as far as adding extra content to ports, I'm not sure.
Fairly sub par list in my opinion... PS, why batman AC it's been out a while now to the point of where people have lost interest. Also GTA 5 and Saints Row right next to each other, you even trying?
They don't need to completely change things. Feeding to the controller is as simple as a function call. ( as far as we have read from developer interviews). I wouldn't see how it's difficult to get input coordinates from the touch screen. These are easily processed trough the SDK. All they have to do is adapt the interface to the game. There might be design changes to fit the Wii-U concept, but in essence the game doesn't have to change from the core. Regarding a port of course. Merely an adaption is all that is needed...if they plan on making a game that really shows off the Wii-u and their game, they should keep the design in mind from ground up. But I wouldn't be surprised if the first few ports just use the controller as an overall map or inventory. We shall see.
Agreed. Imo, however, (some) 3rd party devs really got lazy on the Wii. A lot devs chose to release ps2 ports instead innovative, "ground up" products. They will simply have to be more imaginative this time around (anybody up for a round of Soul Calibur Legends... I didn't think so. MadWorld... you bet!). Nintendo has to encourage other devs to think outside of the box. But yea, sadly I am expecting simple ports for the first wave of 3rd party titles as well.
@mike Madworld and Legends were equally shallow. To each his own I guess.
More then anything i have my fingers crossed that great RTS games are developed on the system. The controller seems to be absolutely perfect for RTS games this time around.
I couldn't agree more, but don't get your hopes up. As much as I love RTS games, the dream of playing them on my Nintendo died after the Gamecube. A few devs (Nintendo included) mentioned the same thing for the Wii. Imo the remote interface would have been ideal for RTS titles. Now I know what you're thinking... Pikmin 3? Miyamoto must have delayed it for good reason. Pikmin 3 is already confirmed, and if it does well, it should open doors in that area for 3rd party devs.
Well in that case lets hope the man delivers with that game. If Halowars can find a way to run in a fair state on the 360. There should be no excuse with the wii u. Especially with a controller like that. All we can do is wait i guess.
Don't forget turn-based strategy. I would love it if the next Total War game was being developed for wiiu. Or maybe Civ VI. Nothing makes me happier than the thought of sitting on my couch playing my favorite TBS or RTS game on a big screen. Very relaxing. The problem with other consoles is that the controller limited the game to a couple buttons. Plus there's the problem with the ease of selecting/attacking characters. The wiiu controller basically eliminates that problem entirely.
Exactly what i was thinking. I may have super high hopes and expectations for the system and controller. RTS games are my fav games, and would love to see some sort of console revolution for them. If not i guess ill just continue to play them on pc.
I just cant wait to see what launch games they release on it.
HD Okami. The system was practically made for it.
"Ten third-party games I like that should be adapted to WiiU. No new games here" Fixed the title for you. On a personal opinion, the game that must be made for WiiU is a sequel/alternate story for The World Ends With You.. Hell, I'd even buy a remake, can you imagine that beast in HD?
While I don't really agree with that opening statement, I decided to give you an "agree" vote anyway because f*ck yeah The World Ends With You! That's one of a few DS games I wish was expanded onto consoles somehow.
Here's 10 killer multi-plats For WiiU... 1.Maximo 3 2.Next gen road rash game 3.Castlevania symphony of the night 2 4.Baldur's gate dark alliance III 5.Metal gear solid 5 6.Manhunt 3 7.Street fighter V 8.Monster hunter 4 9.Next mortal kombat 10.Battlefield 4 Cheers Gamers & Happy Gaming!
