Small in Japan – How M$ can change their Xbox fortunes around | G3AR

The Xbox brand is loved in the States and all over Europe and has a strong following locally, but one region that it has been battling with over the years is the East. Japan just about hates Microsoft or – more specifically – the Xbox brand. Since the original Xbox entered Japan back in February 2002 the writing has been painted on the wall with thick red ‘disapproval’ blood.

The story is too old to be commented.

Yes a Sega 720 or whatever it will be called would sell way better than a Xbox 720.
Come on Microsoft, buy Sega and leave them alone to make the games.
It could pay off in a really big way.

The article is flame bait using the dollar sign in MS.....Japanese people are stubborn they seldomly buy American products. they should pull outnof Japan Nd concentrate on the Chinese Market. I hope to god the next xbox isn't sold in Japan it's a waste of time andnmoney. Seta is a Japanese owned company they would never sell out to an American owned business.
@below I totally agree.

Financially, it just isnt worth the risk/bother. MS are doing alright as it is and lets be honest, the Japanese market just isnt what it used to be, Sony are hardly making a killing of it.

Unless your Nintendo, or looking to launch a mobile device, why bother?

Why invest so much just for one region? A region that is no longer as dominant in the console industry too I might add.

I agree with the posts above.

Pull out of Japan and focus %100 on the US,Europe and other markets.
