IGN: Why Resident Evil Stories Are Insane

'Chaotic' might be one of the better words used to describe the lore of Resident Evil. For a series that seems to simply focus on viral outbreaks across the world, the story behind those outbreaks, and the individuals involved, is so layered and dense that it can often be difficult to keep track.

There's a reason for that.

Resident Evil stories are insane???

You are killing walking dead and other monsters that come alive and you do it all by yourself.

What do you think?

"You are killing walking dead"
Stopped here, RE never used to be about killing zombies, it was always in the players best interest to completely avoid them.
Puzzles and navigation are what makes the games so good.

edit: I've played it since the first and played every game up until 5, 4&5 were as you described and actually rewarded kills with herbs and ammo, that is bullshit.
The older games never did that, killing was a waste of ammo and time.
I hope you weren't playing them on Easy...

LOL how long have you been playing RE? cause if it was always about avoiding them you wouldnt be given a substantial amount of ammo and weapons throughout the game, Silent Hill on the other hand or Siren, you really need to avoid most fights.

I never said that the main focus of the game was to kill everything that moves. Well at least it's not what it used to be but newer RE games are all about shooting.

Anyways, my point was that what do you expect from a game that features zombies and monsters?? To be a perfectly logical game?? :D
