PSLS Review - Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning

PSLS: "Over the past several years, the role-playing genre has been evolving at an increasingly rapid rate. In an industry where JRPGs are beginning to feel more and more antiquated due to the surge of Western developed action-heavy experiences, the genre we’ve all come to know and love has grown into an entirely different beast. I’m happy to report that 38 Studios and Big Huge Games have only served to continue that trend with Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning, by crafting an innovative fantasy RPG that successfully blends fun and rewarding combat with a massive open world and robust character customization system."

So, it's basically God of War combat meets the world of Skyrim. And who said Curt Schilling should have stuck to pitching and bloody socks?

Im picking it up today,

Not trolling but if Skyrim can get a high or perfect score with it shortcomings, I dont see any reason KOA shouldnt.

That is for all the comments I seen bashing this game (based off the demo ported from an old beta)

If you are into RPGs you will most definitely like it. I've put about 15 hours into the game so far and its great. The world is vast, there are a ton of places to explore, deep leveling system, ridiculous amounts of loot, you can enchant/make potions from ingredients...I can keep going, but I wont. Not to mention the combat is fun cause you can pull off a variety of combos depending on how you tailor your character.

Most importantly though the game seems to run fine (im playing on ps3). The story could be more engaging, but the quests can still be relatively interesting if you take the time to read up on the world and characters in game. Really, its got everything you would want out of an engaging rpg, so no complaints from me.

This review needs to be ignored for 1 reason. Not for its score or for its critique of the game

Its the fact that the review writer felt so insecure he had to insult japanese rpgs.

Whats antiquated is the same lord of the rings rip offs. If Ive played the very first elder scrolls, Ive played this one.

See I can do it too. I can make stuff up to feel insecure
