The X Button writes: "Soul Calibur V is very much a game that isn't really sure what it wants to be. On the one hand, it's the fifth iteration of a fighting series that's unique for its emphasis on weapons-based combat and quasi-hisrorical accuracy. SCV brings some of the biggest changes to the formula yet seen in the series, mixing up the combat with new moves and didtching old techniques, whilst radically overhauling the entire cast by setting the game some 20 years after the last. Sounds promising, doesn't it? And then we look at the other hand, and see that the new cast of characters is mostly reskins of old ones, the new mechanics aren't really all that new, and there's precious little content to go at either in single or multiplayer."
