PixBits has taken to its blog to show off a teaser image of popular Terraria-like Junk jack on Mac OSX, hinting at a PC version as well.
Ethan Moses asks: "Do we really want original games or is it about time that we shed this layer of pretentiousness and accept the fact that derivatives are the course the industry is heading?"
I noticed something sinister recently. During Diablo 3's development, Torchlight was deemed as a rival or something might beat the former to the punch. In reviews it was seldom painted as a cheap Diablo clone.
Same with Torchlight 2's previews last year. It was deemed as worthy competitor to D3. Never as a cheap ass clone.
BUT, after D3's launch I noticed a number of preview sites seem to be be adamant to let people know that T2 is nothing more than an unworthy clone trying unseat the king. They really emphasized that it's just a clone out to do the impossible.

Zack from PixelatedMonster.com reviews Junk Jack, a cute Minecraft-like for iOS that skips the junk and tries to be a jack of all trades.
Pretty shameless ripoff of Terraria.
