When any gamer hears the name SquareEnix they think of Final Fantasy.

The company's flagship franchise has now reached the sequel to its 13th iteration.

13 however did not prove to be the developer's lucky number, with FF XIII criticised as being glitz before substance.

Coupled with the glaring omission of open world RPG adventure and a battle dynamic that left you feeling like the game was on autopilot rather than any direct involvement FFXIII was not hailed as an instant classic, despite shipping in excess of 6.2 million copies.
