Why World of Warcraft isn't getting a facelift any time soon

VideoGamer.com's Emily Gera writes: "Rumour has it World of Warcraft is getting some kind of facelift - although the specifics aren't exactly clear. This came about recently when a few users noticed characters in the Armory - which features data pulled directly from the servers - were unavailable, leading forum members to meditate on this disappearance the best way they knew how - by complaining extensively online." (PC, World of Warcraft)

i'd love an overhaul. goblins look awesome and then you zoom in on the older ones and its disappointing in comparison.

i'm also up for a larger draw distance and a slight texture upgrade. they added sunshafts and physics based water with cata so its not out of bounds to ask for it. they added dx11 support and soon its getting a 64-bit client option, so you know they're open to improving the engine.

But I'm not sure if they're willing to improve the detail of the artwork. With such a massive game as World of Warcraft, that would be a gigantic undertaking.

they don't need to improve all of the artwork. i love the visuals of wow how they are. for the most part timeless with a couple bad spots here and there. specifically the characters could use an upgrade which i know would be a lot of work but maybe worth it. unless they were going to make a wow2 then just don't worry about it.
