Microsoft Ships Record 8.2m X360's in Dec Q, EDD Profits $528m

X360 shipments reached 8.2m, a record Q for the now 6 year old machine, up 1.9m units over the same quater last year. Providing we don't see substantial drops over the next 2 quaters, this should be the X360's best fiscal year overall. Total install base now stands at 65.8m. For the Calendar year, the X360 shipped just under 15m units.

I know its only shipped, but retailers wouldn't take them if they didn't think they could sell them. This is unprecedented for a 7 year old console. No wonder Microsoft are in no hurry to launch the the 720...

kudos to MS, but i really want some new ips. I would not buy witcher 2 since i have a gaming pc...luckily the ps3 would offer twisted metal....

And people said consoles were going the way of the Do Do bird.

That's very impressive for a machine that has not had a price cut in quite a long time. Good job Microsoft.

The 360 might of not had a price drop for a while but when a 360(250gb) cost £180 and Kinect is £109. A Kinect bundle for £245 + game. Its pretty much a better deal for a buyer then a price cut.

Bundling them 3 items together is a saving of £65

Hot damn!!! Now funnel some of that cash flow into the creative department. We desperately need some new IP's.. And if that's asking too much then bring back some Xbox 1 titles!!! Quit wasting money on timed DLC and now TIMED DEMO EXCLUSIVES?!! (R.E.6).

*Throw your core a friggin new bone every now and then that's NOT named Halo, Gears, or Forza. Console desperately needs some new blood. At least to set apart Xbox brand from other consoles.
