2012 Is A Great Time To Start PC Gaming And This Is Why

GameRevolution writes: "You've probably been hearing for a few years now that PC gaming is floating dead in the water, but I'll be the first to tell you that it isn't. As a matter of fact, it's on the rise, and if trends continue, we'll be seeing it as a dominant platform like it was earlier in the century. That's a pretty strong statement, but there are several reasons that gamers are looking to the personal computer for their entertainment solution, and we've decided to compile a concise list of reasons that you should seriously consider getting into PC gaming."

I'm with you brother. Diablo 3 is looking like one of the hottest online games in years. Who can deny Blizzard's fine craftsmanship? :)

I know Diablo 3 is great but this can't be it for the PC.

I'm the type of gamer who can play with a game for a certain amount of time and regardless how good it is I get bored of it and move on to something else because there is always something else to play.

Diablo 3, Torchlight 2, SC2 expansion, Guild Wars 2, and a slew of other games some PC exclusive, some not but certainly the better version.

Its always a good year to be a PC gamer.

I have to agree with this article. I've been a console gamer my entire life and for the first time since I started gaming, I'm interested in building a gaming PC rig. I don't feel that the console generations are moving fast enough for me, and I'm ready for more power. PC is the answer.

Wow really, you've never gamed on a PC? That's crazy! Anyway, the problem I have with PC gaming is the cost; the article can say what it wants to, PC games do have minimum system requirements but try playing a quality high graphic PC game using minimum system requirements and see how you like it.

Also, the playing field can be unfair, and person with a supped up, super PC will hand you your A$$ on a platter stepping into the arena with an entry level PC.

And the fact that you have to constantly upgrade a gaming PC is the straw that breaks the camel's back. A high level PC video card cost more than a console all on it's own; in some cases you can own a PS3 and a 360 for the cost of and top level video card. (can you say radeon 7970 or nvidia GTX 580)

With consoles, everyone typically has the same platform which makes for a comparable experience.

Just saying.

Starting pc gaming can be expensive, you really want atleast mid to high end pc to enjoy it and take in the advantages over consoles. For that you looking at atleast $800-1000.

But if you smart and futureproof yourself. The next pc becomes much cheaper as you end up reusing some of the hardware. Like case, drives, etc...

My current pc made of 8, 6 and 3 year old parts and still runs bf3 on high. And chances are I won't be upgrade for another year or two.

Hmm, don't see why oohwii got a couple of disagrees. Everything he said about PC gaming is trye form my experience and I have been doing PC gaming all of my life.

Does the hate on this site go so far the truth doesn't really matter?

Either way, oohwii, I see you.
