Imagine 999 players all in the same area at once shooting lasers at each other, that's Man vs Machine.
Looks incredibly stupid. (It is probably safe to assume that this is just a Proof-of-concept-thing, but I still doubt that 1000 players fighting each other is something I want to do - seriously: That is a little overkill, isn't it? On the other hand, if the area scales for this amount of people that could be fun)
Yeah it is a bit overkill plus imagine a hacker in there or hackers. It would be hell.
Future Battlefield game might go to that extent in say 20 years. I think its a great concept. Technology can't keep up with it at the moment though. I say if you add in buildings, cover, vehicles, destruction, particle effects. Then wow, but that is years away from possible.
impressive from a technical standpoint and all that, but it doesn't actually look like much fun.
If they somehow managed to eliminate lag then this would be great but I see too much problems happening with this, there's already a lot of problems when there's 60 players in a PC game let alone 999.
dam they should've gone 1000vs1000 Nevertheless very impressive
Well There is planetside 2 already coming, wich looks way more impressive than this
Yeah mostly it was just to make a point that it's possible in Unity 3D. It's just a matter of it actually being balanced and set up where you don't die immediately after spawning. And that doesn't mean a three second invulnerability either =P
