If you couldn't already tell with how stupid the game looked during E3 last year... It's too bad, because the last GR games were awesome.

Yep, unfortunately trying to be Call of Duty results in failure 99% of the time..

Imitating cod would NOT MAKE YOU AS SUCCESSFUL!
Ironically enough, what made cod popular is the innovation with cod4 which they even couldnt top off and just rehash the formula.

Innovation!!! Not copying cod!

;_; why god whyyyyy? Its the WoW effect... by 2017 i bet there will b only CoD-like franchises. Well i might just be gettin out of FPS's anyways...

What game developer isn't these days.

I still see CoD as a fad. Next gen something else will pop up and people will flock to that. People are fickle. Remember Pogs, tamigotchis and all that. That's honestly how I see CoD.
Just to add I really liked 1, 2, and 4 but it's going a bit overboard now.

Perhaps the CoD style fps is a fad but the genre itself most definately isn't. It's just most developers copy the CoD template at the moment. But look at Bioshock Infinite or even The Darkness 2. There are original ways to use the genre that don't involve soldiers and middle eastern warzones.

I don't think of COD as much of a fad as I do the whole fps genre. When COD 4 came out I spent countless hours playing it. I also spent many hours on KZ2 and COD: WaW. Now, every shooter seems like the same thing and not just the COD franchise. I've been pretty much done with online shooters for a while now, just focusing on great single player games. That's just me though, ymmv.

Totally agree, why can't they strive to be different instead of copying the yawn fest that is Cod.

AHHH...Look away Ubisoft. Look away.

I've always loved Ghost Recon over COD just a true military game.
