I played the demo yesterday.

Things I liked:
- The gun mechanics are slightly improved. They aren't great, but they're better.

Things I didn't like:
- The voice of The terrible. It's a guy's voice running through a distortion pedal. Ugh. It sounds so lame! There's a word I haven't used since high school.

- The art style is mildly off-putting. I find it difficult to take it seriously. I loved, it's weird that I can't take this game seriously.

- The facial animations are some of the worst I've seen this generation...and that doesn't even include the full body animations! Those are bad, too!

- Where is that memorable and gorgeous music from the first game?

I'm upset. This is a catastrophe.

I loved the demo actually. The lip syncing is horrendous, but this is on my radar now.

I take it you haven't played the first game?

I've played the first game (it was my second ever game to play on ps3) and quite enjoyed it.

-I love the art style. I can kind of understand where you're coming from about not taking it seriously, but for me, since it's so incredibly violent and gory, it balances out the comic book feel to make it something to be taken seriously.

-The lip syncing is better than the first Darkness game (not by much, but it is better). The first game had god awful lip syncing though.

-The gun mechanics are SIGNIFICANTLY improved from the first game. They're not amazing, but they are really good and are like 5x better than the original.

-The only "gorgeous" music in the first darkness only happened during the emotional scenes, and obviously they aren't going to put those types of scenes in a demo, it would spoil and ruin the full game. The other "memorable" music from the first game was just a bunch of metal, which if I recall, td2 demo had as well.

You're seriously overreacting if you believe it's a catastrophe.

I was initially looking forward to the game when I heard about it and saw screenshots and trailers, but after playing the demo, it's my second most anticipated game of the year (Bioshock Infinite being my first).

@ LettingGo

Nope, I didn't. I wasn't too fond of the demo so I passed it off. If the story is that deep maybe I'll pick it up. I can get it dirt cheap so I'm just gonna get it.
