Keep in mind that Rocksmith aims to be a guitar learning tool first and a game second.

Now, I don't have the game either, but according to most reviews that I readed it's not very good for people that are advanced in the guitar. It goes from basic to intermediate both in musics and techinique challanges. On the technical side, it works as supposed to: plug in, check if tuned properly and the game read your notes pretty well. The guitarcade mode looks like a fun way to get yourself some muscular memory for hand positions.

The only stuff there for advanced players is that it have a quite good virtual amp, which means you get to test many tones, effects and what not. Oh... And there's also the tabs for musics you may not already know, but that's hardly something you need the game (or to spend 60 bucks) for.

Anyway, if they do add the bass guitar support via update/DLC I'm buying this tomorrow. Although I know how to play the bass, I learned by myself with not much application (the basic try to follow 'till the music comes out). I only play as a hobby, I even have other instruments here which I can't play at all like my tenor sax... So the basic to intermediate stuff is exactly what I need to reinforce but never have the will to go through the "boring stuff". Maybe a game push me to do it now... I have a thing for big numbers in a corner of my screen.

thanx for the answer, i wouldnt class myself as a great guitarist as im always learning new techniques so this game sounds right for me . i just want to know does it work well .this is the sort of control on a music game that i have been looking for for a long time. i wish someone would bring out a music game like music on ps1/2 that i could make my own tunes again and easily upload to youtube. is there any thing like that in this game ? anyways check this out if you want to check some new music. www.myspace.com/hardcorehippie z
