Could trade in my 3DS, getting sick of these lack of content minigames and inferior sequels. I'm definitely getting Vita at launch, it just depends wether I trade this 3DS in aswell to grab an extra game.
I have a feeling you won't be the only person to trade in their 3DS for a Vita. The Vita certainly offers more in terms of just about everything, from a more robust online multiplayer to different input methods (touchpads, SixAxis motion, etc.).
I'll be getting a Vita day one (WiFi) with a couple games and a memory card. I didn't even buy the PSP day one, but I'll be getting this one day one for sure.
I'll wait until the 4G Vita comes out instead of getting the 3G one. Plus, I can tether my smartphone to it for cheaper than paying the plan. ATT really needs to figure out a way for you to include the 3G for the Vita (and other devices like iPads, etc.) on your regular cell phone plan.
"Could trade in my 3DS, getting sick of these lack of content minigames and inferior sequels." Then good luck with the vita... February is when the 3ds releases kick into high gear.
I'm also trading in my 3DS. From what's been offered so far for the system, I can live without it. My DSi XL is all I need on the Nintendo front for now.
The PSVita's launch / future lineup is more than the 3DS can compete with in my opinion. (I'm talking about competition between libraries, not sales.) I might as well sell it now before it drops in value.
your a fool vita will be the same poor low frame rate games we have got used to there isnt any great tech in the vita in my eyes the 3DS has 3D and amazing graphics plus a better PPI resolution 3DS has 233ppi the vita has 226ppi so both have crisp screens.
Nintendo are making gritty games as we speak 1 is Mach Rider Unchained its a gritty combat racer like Flatout or motorstorm devs that have seen it say its the best graphics on any portable device full stop.
Oh the 3DS will get revisions so think better screens with better viewing angles and things like that an extra circle pad everything will get refined on what is already on equal footing with vita in terms of being a powerful handheld with top notch games.

There will be a Metroid as well as many cross platform WiiU/3DS games using the Nintendo Network that launches when WiiU is out on both platforms and is said to be better than LIVE.
Vita isnt worth the money its asking the 3DS has better games with better graphics off 3rd party games than Vita sorry but pick me a 3rd party vita game that comes near Revelations or MH3G/MH4 with a explosive MP online mode.
@matey More delirious Nintendo fanboy drivel. I've had my 3DS since launch, I also imported my original DS from Japan and my NDS lite because I was passionate about it and it had good games. Now the 3DS is another story, mario is ok, mariokart is ok but I don't want just "ok" games. They are lacking in content massively, mario kart ds had way more content than mariokart 7 does, a logo designer, mission modes ect. MK7 and Supermario 3D land are half assed and rushed out the door because the 3DS is still lacking quality games. I could predict the DS success but I can definitely predict Vita success in the west. Sure it's not doing so well in Japan, but that's just launch timing and monster hunter.
It's not even about the quality titles, I can go on my PSP today and still have a better online store. The EShop is still terrible with a collection of what 4 3DS games? ITS BEEN NEARLY A YEAR AND I'M STILL WAITING. The launch titles alone for the vita seem more interesting than the 3DS's entire catalogue.
You shouldn't talk crap about the PPI of the screens it's a well known fact the vita screen is alot more impressive than the 3ds's, the only thing I will be seeing is how vibrant and graphically superior my vita is and how great my 3DS looks in a shop window. Oh and don't talk about 3D either I have a 3DTV and 3D effects in 1080p are a lot better than on a tiny screen.
@AdvanceWarsSgt Have you played SM3DL? Its a few hours game play then your done, Then you get to play all the levels again with the smallest changes. WOW What a game, Mario 64 DS was a better game, because it was a full blown console experience in your hands and then some. So don't laugh as if what i'm saying isn't true, and don't pretend your not bored to death of your 3DS because your lying to yourself.
I want to trade in my 3DS, but they give me horrible prices! I mean, I bought it for £200 on release day, why are they offering £50 store credit! -_- Meh, might still do it anyway.
I dunno where your trading in but you are being ripped off. I traded in my aqua blue 3ds in on Monday and got £100 store credit from Gamestation and that had a really loose hinge. I then used the credit to get the ice white super Mario 3d land bundle as I had some credit on my elite card. After buying that Gamestation then loaded my elite card with £35 worth of XP for a hardware purchase (25% extra XP for some reason) giving me a total of £47 to use against my next purchase. So I traded in an old 3ds and used my elite card credit to buy a more expensive 3ds bundle, handing no money over and got another £35 credit for doing it.
I work at a second-hand store and we sell a used 3DS for $120. If we gave $100 for it, that would be INSANE! You have to make money off of these things.
And by the way...it doesn't matter how much you bought something for new when the new price is much lower now. Seriously, dude. Use your head.
If anyone wants to trade their psvita, I'm willing to trade fifteen chickens and a rabbit that doesn't poop. Make it quick and I'll even give you two pairs or socks. Come on guys it's a totally awesome deal.
UMDs were slow and consumed battery life quicker. And Sony is not obligated to include it on a new system.
It's like wanting to play your old VHS tapes in your DVD player. You can keep your PSP to play PSP games. However, there's an OPTION, of $5 per gamer. Take it or leave it.
@Darkfocus That's a combo. I was referring to standalone DVD players and disc drives being unable to play tapes. Also, size isn't much of an issue on a home electronics like that. But for a handheld yes. Think about these things first.
it's additional... so it's whatever your system is worth (based off quality, base trade in, all contents being there, etc) and THEN the 25... you could easily in theory get 75 usd for the 3,000...
I don't have to trade mine in, I bought a warranty from Gamestop, so I can just return mine and but the money towards a vita and not another 3DS. I don't need to do so, since there are a few games that I want before I get put it down again.
If you can find a Gamestop and a Gamestop employee to do that for you, you should be golden if you don't have use for the 3DS anymore.
Yeah, I want to get some games and a 16gb card for my wifi vita, so I'm gonna trade my psp 3000 just to help pay it off. Plus this extra 25 is pretty awesome too...well gotta see how much I actually get for the psp first.
I look at the comments and I can't believe how many people can't read....It says $25 MORE for a trade in, not $25 for a PSP. It still won't be much, but it won't be $25.
Well I am not trading in my PSP I still play the damn thing specially with Xenogears on it. Plus the fact I'll get $25 for it not worth it even with the additonal money being thrown out still gonna play it safe and see how the Vita does in NA with sales and launch titles.
$25 whole dollars out of my $200 psp. Hell yeah! No. Less than a day of work will net me more than $25. The only incentive that's for is the 3DS for those that have one, and that's most likely including all the games with it, but that'll probably only net them .50 a game.
The picture says 25 bonus credit. The article says an additional 25 dollars.
So where are you getting confused? Is it bonus (something given or paid over and above what is due.) or is it additional (added; more; supplementary: additional information.)?
...not worth it... Keep your PSP. If anything, you will feel better just handing it down to someone who will still make use of it. I would not trade in my PSP for anything less than 1/3 the amount of the Vita. & even that is questionable, because I do like keeping my hardware/games.
See, what you have to realize is, the companies are gonna try to find ways to buy back their hardware for cheap, especially when there's still value in it. They already made the initial sale from purchase. Having got their hands on used hardware, for an fraction of what it cost, they can now re-package & sell those for 2-3 times the amount it cost retrieving them, not to mention the $ saved from production cost.
why is everyone here complaining about trade-ins? Companies try to make profits and dont care what you get as long as they make money. If you really one money sell it online instead of trading im
Why are people trading in their 3DS's for the Vita? I mean really. It came out not even a year ago.
I'm wondering what these people trading in their 3DS's were thinking at launch. Clearly it must have been a cheap spur of the moment purchase because I cannot think of any reason to just throw away something like that so early for so little gain.
i allready pre ordered my 3G vita a 16 GB mem card and a handful of games. i got a 3ds aswell but there is just NO WAY i'll trade it in, the 3ds got to good games, and better games to come...
I never brought a 3DS thank god. The lack of tow control sticks annoyed the hell out of me.
I refuse to buy Nintendo handhelds anymore. They don't offer me value for money the way Sony do. I buy a PSV - I know I've got a good 6+ years right there. I buy a Nintendo handheld, I expect it to be replaced with a another model every year. I'm waiting to see the two stick 3DS, then the lite, and so on.
I'll be getting a Vita day one (WiFi) with a couple games and a memory card. I didn't even buy the PSP day one, but I'll be getting this one day one for sure.

That was a ton of pro-Nintendo jargon with no evidence.
You can't deny that the PSVita's lineup isn't looking better than the 3DS'. That would be pure fanboyism.
Oops looks like you had too much time on N4G. Time to go on a cruise Matey.
Lol seriously Nintendo fans should be embarrassed by this guy because he makes them look really bad.

i think ima cancle my preorder and just go preorder it at target -,-
If you can find a Gamestop and a Gamestop employee to do that for you, you should be golden if you don't have use for the 3DS anymore.
I never play it now, but I sometimes like to keep things like that because of nostalgia...

Sony get their stuff together DAY ONE.
Not out in North America yet, and already priced the buy back value? Whatever man.....
