Gamepro writes, "Amid the myriad of mediocrity and contrary to popular belief, there are several high caliber Wii games deserving of your time. These are best so far limited to only one mini-game and excluding GameCube ports."
all third party Wii games are pure garbage, just check the stats and reviews if you doubt me
thats true......im waiting till after Christmas so i can finally play mario galaxy.....there are barely any good games on their i need to give this article to my friend, when i asked him to name good games on his wii, had to think for 4 hours :) lol im dead serious too....oh well, sucks to fall for the hype
Metacritic stats/reviews for top Wii 3rd-party games: RE4: Wii Edition - 91 Zack & Wiki - 87 GH3 - 85 MLB Power Pros - 83 Madden 07 - 81 Lego Star Wars - 80 Trauma Center: SO - 80 "Pure garbage" is a little extreme.
Even though many here speak without knowledge and with bias, I'll go ahead and list a list of top notch Wii games, and I won't have to take four hours. Wii Sports Super Mario Galaxy Metroid Prime 3 Legend of Zelda: TP Zack & Wiki Elebits Resident Evil: The Umbrella Chronicles Medal of Honor Heroes 2 Geometry Wars: Galaxies MySims WarioWare: Smooth Moves Rayman Raving Rabbids Godfather: Blackhand Edition Guitar hero III: Legends of Rock Trauma Center: Second Opinion Trauma Center: New Blood Super Paper Mario Lego Star Wars: The Complete Series Resident Evil 4: Wii Edition This is also not including a very promising looking 2008 for the Wii...and you know what, I can't wait. Only six of these are first party, and I'm sure I missed a couple. For a first year of a console, this is not bad at all. The Wii is a great system, but I guess it matters nought to you with blinds over your eyes, since you're "too cool" for teh kiddy Wii. Grow up.
you forgot battalion wars 2
WTF are Wii Sports and Mario Strikers doing there when Trauma Center and few others are missing? Aside from them, it's a solid list and Zack & Wiki is indeed the best Wii game after SMG. God, I really really hope more people start buying this gem instead of crappy things like Wii Fit and Play.
has anyone played wii fit? my friend wants to buy it but i was hoping to get some opinions so he doesnt waste money if its not worth it.....honestly i still dont know why he wants it since hes sooo skinny
People in the US got to play it if they went to E for All, although it was unfinished at that point. All the impressions of the Japanese release have been very positive. I plan on getting it next year when it's released stateside. When I can't make the gym, this would be a great way to get some cardiovascular activity in before bed or quickly during the day. I think it's a great idea of Nintendos.
I will totally agree with anyone that Zack and Wiki is a terrific game. Im not far in the game but it has me hooked. 6 or 7 challenges in and I cnat put it down nor do I want to play any other game. Which sucks in a way because I just got a whole bunch of games and well if this game wasnt so good I could be playing other games. Anyone who hasnt bought the game I suggest you buy it. Its a very unique game which uses motion as the basis for most of its interaction and is not a gimick. I really hope we get more games like this and who can complain at the price of $30-40 avg that the game is selling for. It is truely the first game that is a full game that I would reccomend to anyone gamer or non gamer. on a side note my friend played on challenge then we went out he bought a copy and when he was talking to a friend on the phone convinced the kid to go buy it. Im also buying the game as a christmas present to most people that have a wii and feeling like giving a present. I want this game to get sales.
I'd love to see more people buying games like Zack and Wiki, but I hardly see why that should come at the expense of things like Wii Play and Wii Fit. Time and time again I see people having the mistaken belief that all gamers are (or should be) like them. There is absolutely nothing wrong with being a casual gamer. It's a market that's been largely ignored for too long in favor of chasing more profitable hardcore gamers. Don't get your panties all in a twist, though--there's plenty of room for hardcore and casual gamers alike.
Well, Wii Fit was available for hands/feet-on duiring Leipzig GC and what we saw and tried there was broken, buggy and insanely unfun. I still can't imagine anyone enjoy that thing. Zack & Wiki on the other hand, is an instant classic and a true adventure game. Z&W FTW!
I just can't let you bash wii sports, it's such a fun game lol...wii fit is easy to bash, but wii sports is so much fun. The fun lasts too when you have people who are open to new things and are competitive.
Wii Sports WAS fun...for a couple weeks. Now it's like whenever someone who's never played it wants to play it, I really don't want to and it feels like a chore to play the game with them. It just got boring so fast.
We're a really competitive family. :)
Wii Sports still get broken out any time the wii is played. When I let my brother borrow it for a few months my friends were craving the bowling. Thats the only game I would go back to sports for. Golf every now and then but bowling dont see how that gets boring. By yourself I can understand but its such a great competitive game. As for wii play I rarely break it out but its all about tanks and only tanks for me. Oh and Buy Zack and Wiki. Dont see how people couldnt like it besides the people that dont like puzzle games. Come on stimulate your mind.
I personally think it might actually be fun (probably in the minority there).. but i'm skeptical about how beneficial it could be to ones physical fitness. I'll cirtainly have to have a go though.
I have a Wii, no PS3 (yet), and no 360. I got the Wii last Christmas in all the hype, and I have to say, I'm very underwhelmed. I'm moderatly satisfied because I got to beat Fire Emblem and Metroid at least though. Mario Galaxy is great. Definitly my favorite Mario game. I havn't really liked 3-D Mario's (including 64 ZOMG!!!) but Galaxy was really fun for me. Zack and Wiki is a great game for what it does, I just don't like puzzle games (Z&W has many puzzle-game elements) so it's not my type of game. Overall, I'd say the PS3 has gotten just as many quality titles as the Wii has in each's respective first year, but the Wii as a whole has very much underwhelmed me. Most motion controll games, you don't even notice your not using buttons after a few minutes, and then it's just like playing a regular game with outdated graphics and freatures, still a great game, just doesn't have so much of that "wow" factor. Allthough I will give Metroid props for it's amazing art direction that made me think it's graphics were the second coming.
I completely agree with SMG part. I never really cared to much about the mario games. 64 was alright just not my thing and never bought sunshine. Though Galaxy is awesome.
there are none, its very sad
