Mario Kart 7: Critical Gamer New Year catchup review

Critical Gamer writes: Double Dash (which irked some fans) aside, the Mario Kart games haven’t changed an awful lot since the original was released on the SNES almost twenty years ago. The series remains massively popular nonetheless, as evidenced by Mario Kart 7 outselling every other videogame in Japan last year – despite not being released until December. Are these sales due largely to a sense of duty amongst Nintendo fans, or is the magic still there? (3DS, Mario Kart 7) 8/10
