Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning Has Me Excited, Here’s Why

GamerFitNation Gregory Laporte writes about Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning. "Are you prepared to be buried in an engrossing storyline with several hours of gameplay to fall back on? If you’re not ready for that than you should be, Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning will be releasing on February 7th and if you haven’t gotten a chance to check out any game footage yet than I highly suggest that you do so. Who better to bring this to your attention than yours truly?" (Kingdoms Of Amalur: Reckoning, PS3, Xbox 360)

I've finally got some spare time to myself and am away to fire up the demo as we speak. I've been looking forward to this for a while now and have been hoping that Alamur wouldn't disapoint. So far the reactions to the demo seems to be almost entirely positive, so if you'll excuse me I'm away to get lost in a fantasy world for 45-minutes.

45mins LOL I've been playing for the past hour and a half.

Heh, lucky sod :D

I'm hoping to get in two blasts through the demo, but alas time always seems to be short :(

Ah well, that's what all-night sessions are for :D

Personally, I'm not impressed. Graphics were cartoony, but nicely stylized. I ran through the entire demo with no armor and had zero problem anywhere, except with the controls.

I swear, Dark Souls has completely ruined me...

@grahf - Dark Souls is something else but I enjoyed the demo for Kingdom of Amalur, and it's probably a good pick for RPG fans looking for a solid title. Assuming they have already bought and finished Dark Souls. Twice.

Reminds me quite a bit of Fable, but with a little less linearity. Combat seems simple at first but looks promising once your character gets a little ways in.

Im excited for this game. After putting like 103hrs. into Skyrim and still haven't beat it I've hit like a brick wall where I really don't feel like playing Skyrim at all anymore. This will replace skyrim for me as a next huge RPG.

I think it will be a nice stopgap between Skyrim and Mass Effect 3. Then we'll see some Skyrim DLC. Nice time to be an action RPG fan. I'm hoping we get some surprises this year, too, like Deus Ex turned out to be. BTW, I am about 120 hours into Skyrim and I was ready for a break, too. That game is so clingy, like a girlfriend with low self-esteem, lol.
