According to a new rumor, Nvidia will indeed release a GTX 680 card, and will do it earlier than originally anticipated.
Im srry, im not a pc gamer but only 2gb. Aren't ati cards 4gb. So how will this card be better than ati.
No, and that isn't haw graphics cards work.
A lot of fail in that comment.
I'd have preferred 3GB for 2560x1440 and higher, but nonetheless you can be almost certain that the Kepler GPUs will be faster than the 7000 series, regardless of VRAM. It's the same old song and dance: AMD/ATI card has better performance per watt and is cooler/more power efficient, Nvidia card goes for performance over power efficiency and winds up having the fastest card, often by a wide enough margin due to better driver support (especially at release).
Ram its not the issue you have gtx 580 with 3gb of Ram!The kepler chipset 680 dont need 3gb because the chip itself is more powerfull than the one AMd is putting on the 7000 series.
That's not quite true. If you plan on going over 1080p, into the 2560x1440/1600 resolutions with everything on full detail (hi-res textures and anti-aliasing), you NEED about 3GBs of RAM in order to keep things running smoothly. It's not simply about the GPU's ability to process the image faster, it needs the data for that entire image to process it efficiently. 2560x1440/1600 with hi-res textures and anti-aliasing is a very large image and requires a large frame buffer to accommodate it. If you can't squeeze the entire thing into your frambuffer (or you memory bandwidth isn't high enough), your gameplay will slow to a crawl because it will take multiple passes to complete the image/frame. I hope that's fairly understandable :p.
Lol just save yourself and don't reply. Have a nice day :)
I'm hoping that nVidia will price the 680 to beat the 7970.. more price wars please.
Ya no 799.99 release price -.-
Forgive me if I'm wrong, but you're an aussie aren;t you wicko?...I just had a look at the 7970 pricing out of interest and it's $799 for one here...for a reference card... 0.0 So yeah we need that competition badly.
Nah, I'm Canadian, its 549-599. Not nearly as expensive as it is for you..
My 580 will get me to nvidia 700 series,i skipp the 680!And since the amd7970 its only 15%-18% more powerfull than todays gtx 580 im not getting any problems playing all future gameson my gtx 580!
Here they come get ready ATI the storm is coming...
the new 680/780 what ever the name is will replace my 570
Powerfull like the WII U
I hope you were only joking.
I'm a Nintendo fan... The WiiU will be powerful but not that kind of power... WiiU is packing a 5000 series AMD Radeon HD
Hopefully the prices of the 580's will drop now..
I'd rather wait for the mid range GTX 600 series.
Ill stick with ati i just like the interface plus i hate starting up a game and getting spamed with nvidia ads lol the main reason i get ati ha ha ha.
I myself prefer ATI. The catalyst control center shits all over the crap Nvidia has to offer.
I have AMD and Nvidia and I have to say i do prefer AMD Catalyst over Nvidia NCP! I'm on the fence right now if I'm gonna upgrade to AMD HD7000 or Nvidia Kepler (rumor Nvidia was gonna name it GTX700 and Not GTX600)! Hopefully the prices of GTX580/HD6970 drop a lot and I will just get two of those! My GTX 560ti SLI set-up is good but my HD5850 CF set-up needs to be replaced. I'm sure I can sell each one to some SW:TOR Gamers!! HD7970 and Kepler are gonna be $600 GPU's! OUCH!
I found the HD7970 for $549.99. That's the cheapest i can find it so far! http://www.amazon.com/Visio... I want one so bad, but i would need to build a whole new computer since i only have an IMac lol. Once i have the money, I'll build one and use this screen for my BEAST PC. That HD 7970 Would be great with a resolution of 2560x1440! :P
i hope nvidia win this year
They always win ;)
****! I just bought a GTX 570! Oh well, maybe I'll sell this and get a 670.
