If anyone has a turboduo or turbografx I highly recommend the Arcade card and the neogeo ports hudson made. Fatal Fury Special is one of the best.

I will miss the star soldier series. Classic SHMUP right there.

Funny how some of the things they have done actually parallel other companies ventures. Such as...

They approached Nintendo with some new, more efficient, chips for their system and Nintendo said no thank you. Hudson partnered with NEC and brought out the PC Engine. Similar to nintendo turning down the cd-rom from sony and then sony releasing the playstation.

PC Engine did better in JP than sega and the mega drive where as in the US, the genesis stomped all over the TG16. Could be compared to 360 sales and ps3 sales in JP/US. And yes i know 360 is a US console and yet the genesis was a US console from a JP company.

It was an 8bit system trying to pass off as a 16bit because of the graphics system. Very similar to Atari and the Jag being a 32bit system but claiming it was 64bit because of graphics chips it was using.

Just a few things of interest in the history of Hudson.

there goes my hope for a new bloody roar game.

ThichQuangDuck2256d ago

I cried a little, but seriously Konami make Bloody Roar

Hozi2256d ago

I think Konami should and will make a new Bloody Roar game.

I always hoped for a new Bonks Adventure. Loved my Turbo when I was a kid.

I was just thinking about my old Turbo, I still have it. I was just thinking about when I got it, it was the last sort of magical Christmas I remember as a kid. I got it Christmas of 1990. It's kind of sad, my TurboGrafx-16 is most likely older than a large percentage of the users on N4G lol. Sad but true. I'm getting old. I'm going to have to fire up the old girl for nostalgia. Sad day.

Same here bro, I am turning 33 now and some of my fondest memories as a kid have Bonk and Turbo GFX ingrained in them. Please Konami, take good care of Hudson and let them do what they do best, and that's making games for home console and not the plague they call "mobile" games!

Namco should buy the rights to Bloody Roar and then let the Tekken team make it.

Why o why2256d ago (Edited 2256d ago )

Guess you wont mind paying for the extra but yeah, a version is better than no version..its not even like namco dont have pedigree so yeah, im with ya...kinda

The last bomberman was lacking to be fair, not sure if it was hudson who made the psn xbl version. It felt floaty.. Nowhere near as solid as the simpler gamecube bomberman generations. That bomberman just felt right. Efin hours of multiplayer when into that when when we shoulda been studying....good times..not so good grades

You had to pay for extra characters in the latest Tekken? I don't remember that.

I'm not a fan of Tekken but I can't deny how gorgeous and solid they make their fighting franchise.

If they can get the core mechanics that made BR fun and update the look like Tekken then I would be a happy camper.

I played the first bomberman they released on the current Gen consoles and had blast (pun?) didn't get a chance to play the latest tho.
