Red 5 Studios launches "league for gamers" in protest of anti-industry legislation

Red 5 Studios and its CEO, Mark Kern, have launched a non-profit organization for gamers and developers to help fight against anti-industry legislation like SOPA and PIPA.

Introducing the League For Gamers (LFG). Founded by Red 5 Studios and Mark Kern through a $50,000 pledge, it was established as a true alternative to the Entertainment Software Association (ESA) and its subsidiary organization, the Video Game Voter’s Network (VGVN).

LFG is a gathering place for gamers, developers and industry supporters who want to stand against legislation that's detrimental to the games industry.

The story is too old to be commented.

all the studios/publishers who claim to be against internet censorship should join

I totally agree, Red5 has been at the forefront in that regard. They are blacking out their beta and website on the 18th and are even boycotting E3 because of the ESA's support of SOPA/PIPA. It makes me want to check out Firefall even more just to support them.

I was really disappointed when the VGVN refused to do/say anything against the legislation because it was under the ESA ownership and they were supporting it. It showed it wasn't a true place for gamers to get their voices heard. Hopefully this new place (LFG) will.

I'm all for it. Go LFG!
