Weekly Sales Analysis, 7 January 2012 - Sales Continue to Fall

"Overview - Welcome to 2012. This analysis contains the sales data for the first week of the New Year. Sales drop across the board for a second week now that the holiday season is over.

Software milestones this week in the top 40: Just Dance 3 (Wii) reached the seven million mark; The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim (X360) passed the five million mark; Monster Hunter 3G (3DS) passed the one million mark; Wii Fit Plus (Wii) reached the 21 million mark; and The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D (3DS) reached the three million mark.

Hardware sales are down across the board week on week and year on year. The 3DS sold more than half a million units. Hardware milestones this week: The 3DS passed the 15 million mark and the PlayStation Vita reached half a million sold."
