Punch Jump Week Recap for week ending Jan. 14, 2012.
It seems kinda weird, the xbox sold well during the Holidays but last week the ps3 sold 74,500 (rounded), the wii sold 50,000, and the xbox sold only 2,700 and according it had sold about the same amount the week prior
Thanks for the answer, lol at the disagrees
I think those numbers for Japan only.
Ya common sense tells you something is off with those numbers. 74,500 vs 2,700? Either those are japan sales or it represents a sales increase/decrease of total sales and the writer screwed up in the article.
Of course these are only japan sales you do really think 2 thosand are all the 360 going to sale world wide.
yes ummm Media crate is japan only or did you skip the first 2 words of the article lool
NPD Group Inc. this week said Microsoft Corp. sold 1.7 million Xbox 360 units in Dec. U.S. figures to rank as the No. 1 console in the nation. Total Xbox product sales in Dec. totaled $1.5 billion. Microsoft this week said the Xbox 360 has sold 66 million units globally. In addition, it has sold 18 million Kinect sensors and holds 40 million Xbox Live members.
how does that seem weird it was the holidays thing always sale better during holidays.
you know I see why people say Vgchartz is not a reliable source fo console numbers, They had one set of numbers for consoles two days ago and a complete different set this morning. The proplem is that all console numbers went down, what the FAUCK?
The only people that believe VGChartz numbers are Sony fans.
More like MS fans to be honest.
Yeah, because of undertracking most Sony fans hate the site... but let's not let that get in the way of a good yarn.
From the beginning vgchartz has undertracked ps3 numbers.
VGChartz doesn't track, they guess. Lets not give them too much credit here. -Death
Japan doesn't = the world
Yeah it does. Have you ever even been to Japan? You wouldn't know what kawii desu is.
Do you mean Kawaii desu meaning cute or are you trying to say kowai desu meaning scary?? And sorry but Japan still is not even close to being a major factor in the gaming world anymore. Honto ni.
Isn't Google great for Japanese phrases それすべてを知っている
thx to watching anime for like 4 years I knew actually wat you guys were saying. Not including Fried goat post though, can't read Kanji that well.
$300 a year for 3g at Att and we though XBL $50 a yr was too Hide
High I mean damn cell phones
really? you dont see the difference? XBL you pay on top of the internetfee you have to pay anyway.. wow trolling much?
Isn't the $300 a year for 3g that demonddel mentioned on top of the internet fee you have to pay anyway? Or does it include the internet that you already were paying for anyway?
This is mobile we are talking about... you will have to pay for it, how do you think you can connect to internet? Who's complaining about smartphones internet fees? what is going on?...?
I also pay for digital phone that uses the internet i already pay for. My digital cable is all on demand now too which uses my magic internet box. Xbox Live is a service which still does more than PSN no matter how much you want to deny it. If I could get the same quality with PSN, I'd gladly pay the $50 a year for it. -Death
WOW Im not even talking about XBL vs PSN, so much about fanboism lol! And I really dont care if you love to pay for your xbl, this is about psVita. This is about Internet on the go, the psvita has nothing to do with that, go troll on your provider!
dont the 3g come with wifi ?
Who deserves your hard earned cash more M$, Sony, or Nintendo? Games can determine that question. M$ has little to no exclusives and charges to play MP. Nintendo has the same exclusives as always Mario and Zelda. Sony on the other hand has exclusives all over the place. Its really quite easy to determine who should be selling more, japan knows, Europe knows, the whole world knows except America. Sony FTW! Consoles I've owned in order: SNES/N64/Xbox/Xbox360/PS3
+1 someone who writes something with some logic behind it... rare thing around here
couldn't have said it better myself. PS3 FTW!
What if i like the services of live much better than PSN? Paid: (really great for MP games and if u have lots of friend) 1.easy communication 2.ability to form a party (very helpful when u just want to play onlin with friends only) 3.cross communication. 4.Very nice features/services that are integrated into xlive making it more convenient/easy to use. PSN just starting to get into that idea. 5.If you think connection/communication isn't important for MP, then u probably don't like to play MP online. Free: 1. very helpful with online purchasing decision since develper required to have demo, photo and description for games on xlive. 2. If i look up a game, everything related to it (dlc, demo, full games, etc..are included in one spot. 3. PSN is very lacking/inconsistent on this front: some have maybe a short video clip (i'm actually surprise to finally see it on some psn games) some just have short description Some don't have anything Not everything are in one spot when u look it up. u might have to jump around to gather all necessary information for purchase, sometimes, looking it up on internet is probably a better option than going through psn. 4. Reason: PSN don't require developers to post them -> hence some do, some don't. 5. downloading is convenient (u can play it right off the bat, no need for installation right after u download them unlike psn which is required). What about functionality: Online MP: 1. most 3rd party MP games ran better with less problem on xlive than PSN and I do have more 3rd party games than exclusives. They get patch faster too. 2. downloading seems faster on xlive (i tested by hooking both x360 and ps3 to the same router and downloading the same demo simultaneously). Reason: demo/games tend to be much larger on ps3 vs x360), including mandatory post download installation. Not sure if it is the same for everyone else who willing to test it out. 3. Reason: xlive has a better infrastructure (update, download, patching are just faster and easy) What if i like the games that offer on x360 more so than ps3? What if I love RPG (WRPG and JRPG), and currently, x360 just have more of that. I love ps2 for RPG, but ps3 is really lacking on that front while x360 really improve on that aspect vs. last gen. What if i only play 3rd party games? why pay more for something i don't need (i already have a blueray player). Does Sony has more exclusives/varieties than x360? 1. show me a list of sony exclusives (categorize by genra)then I can show u the same list on x360. 2. Reason why people think that sony has more? - Sony has more 1st party studio (haven't seen much until lately) - MS has more exclusives in beginning, and Sony has more exclusives now -> they are actually about the same - Future prospect, Sony probably have the upper hand in exclusives. Does Japanese prefer Japanese product over others? 1. exception: the iphone...that things is a phenomenon. Is PS3 overly dominant in Europe (like x360 vs ps3 in US) or just slightly? Can i support all 3 depends on what they are offering and if i like them or not?
I agree with most of what you just said. it all comes down to preference and some of will prefer xbl and some psn. As for the data, ive noticed that a demo on psn usualy a larger file then the same demo on xbl. i think it all comes down to compression. PS has bluray with bundles more space as opposed to dvd 9 with limited space. I believe microsoft compress all there data no matter what it is because of the limited disc space, whereas sony developers dont have to worry about that issue. And personaly i cannot tell the difference, even with multiplat games that some people claim to perfrom better on one console. i believe, although i could be wrong that the compressing data for games has a bigger effect on the sound quality of the games, im pretty sure i read that before but like most people i use the standard setup for audio so i cannot comment on that. and living in the uk, most of my friends own both ps3 and a 360. Game shops usualy have a bigger section for 360 then ps3, maybe it comes down to money ? i dont know but i would not say PS3 is overly dominant in the UK, i dont know about europe.
