Blizzard Admits a Mistake in the Design of WoW: Cataclysm, Promises Change for Pandaria.

According to many one of the worst flaws of the Cataclysm expansion of World of Warcraft is its linearity, Blizzard seems to have taken notice and promised change. (PC, World of Warcraft, World of Warcraft: Cataclysm, World of Warcraft: Mists of Pandaria)

This is not aimed at Blizzard but it's funny that a lot of developers admit they make mistakes only when a new game is out instead of fixing the mistakes the mistakes in the first place.

It's like it take a new game to realise they made them when they already knew about them.

Eh fixing it would probably entail redesigning a whole lot of stuff. Not defending them, but aiming to change it with the expansion is a realistic plan.

Exactly!

Large design mistakes like that is almost impossible to fix, unless you completely redesign it. Which means an entirely different expansion.

They only admit mistakes to get you to take a chance on their newest thing.

Then, when it's out, the PR goes full swing into "this product is perfect" mode and all complaints are either baseless or the customer's fault.

Straight up BioWare style.
