Microsoft Corp. this week demonstrated Kinect Star Wars for the Xbox 360 this week at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, NV. The Pod Race demonstration level offered gesture-based controls to facilitate vehicle turns and power boosts.
I'm not a huge fan of Ep. 1, but I loved the pod racing concept.
This pod racing was basically already done with PS2's EyeToy with the game AntiGrav... All in all it doesn't sound like I will be getting the hardcore Star Wars game that I was hoping for.
You actually thought Kinect Star Wars was going to be hardcore...? Me, Im still waiting for SWBF3 :(
I know this game doesn't get a ton of love around here, but I was most looking forward to the Pod Racing parts of the game. I used to love Pod Racing on my N64 and my Dreamcast back in the day. Also, looking forward to Star Wars Episode 1 in 3-D this February. Episode 1 is my second favorite of the whole saga, don't think there is a better character then Qui-Gon Jinn in the whole saga.
..this game will release and scream of casual fail. Pity.
I don't like the sound of gesture based pod racing at all. I know it's a Kinect title but they give an option to use the controller for this part if its a mini-game where you can race as much as you want. Also he doesn't complain about lag so they really must have polished it.
Looking forward to it still have the original pod racer game.
