Square Enix sh*ts on Final Fantasy

I held hopes that FFXII-2 will change things up a bit, as had been announced by the basta*ds at Square Enix.

Well, apart from the demo, and several things have been leaked, including the OST of the game, among other things.

I'll just say one thing: SQUARE - ENIX, IROS a tomar por el culo (translation: you can stick it up your ass)

His basically angry at FF13-2, in particular, the soundtrack !

That crazy Chocobo song sucks major balls, you can see its ratings on youtube. Shows how far SE went away from what FF used to be

iamtehpwn4484d ago

The Crazy Chocobo song, believe it or not---is actually composed by Final Fantasy (or Square Soft In general) music's Father, Nobuo Uematsu. He's contributed a few tracks to Final Fantasy XIII-2:

bobrea4484d ago

That's too bad because that song is pure trash. Ill stick to his ffx stuff.

Godmars2904484d ago (Edited 4484d ago )

Yeah, I can see as parody where the music is as least decent, I mean I honestly like it to a degree, but in game as a constant looping track? There's no way I'm not going to get tired of it.

Its just this kind of thing, that you have former FF contributors putting in this ind of effort, that has me worried for vsXIII.

@iamtehpwn:
You mean like some people try to defend XIII and XIII-2 by simply calling someone who brings up a question or complain a hater?

iamtehpwn4484d ago (Edited 4484d ago )

Wow. Nothing in that comment with opinionated and yet it got some disagrees... It is a fact that Crazy Chocobo is a Nobuo Uematsu song, and I added a citation source to prove it. Only on N4G can people disagree with an non-bias stated fact. LOL.

Hicken4484d ago

The "hater" part comes in because it's a frequently-stated opinion ("XIII sucks, and so will XIII-2!") generally based on little to no fact.

iamtehpwn stated a fact, and people disagreed with it.

You hate FFXIII/XIII-2, and go out of your way to make sure everyone knows it(for example). That you hate is a fact, but the hate itself is an emotion, a malleable non-constant, something that can never be a fact. When people spam that everywhere they go, and at the same time call people who DID enjoy the series noobs to FF or the reason the franchise is failing or any number of such things, it becomes an indication of someone being a hater.

ReservoirDog3164484d ago (Edited 4484d ago )

@ iamtehpwn

Well, Nobuo Uematsu composed that song years and years ago. They probably tweaked it a little for XIII-2 but they have to give credit to him in it cause it's his song at heart.

Now the tweaks are the problem though. His song's in there. But it's changed so badly that it's hardly recognizable.

That's why his name is on a few songs cause he hasn't worked on FF since X I think.

iamtehpwn4484d ago (Edited 4484d ago )

@ReservoirDog316

No. It is composed by Nobuo Uematsu. And Just so you know Uematsu has composed for more Square Enix games after X. He contributed a song for 12, and he was responsible for the Final Fantasy XIV OST.

ReservoirDog3164484d ago

@ above

Haha, well, it was a guess. So he just missed on that one I guess.

Also, I don't play MMOs so yeah, didn't know that.

And the XII song was the opening theme wasn't it?

A good point - not a massive FF fan (I don't really like the genre, to be honest), but I do like some of the older music.

rebirthofcaos4486d ago

WTF with the chocobo song, sound like a prayer to satan ;_;

rebirthofcaos4486d ago (Edited 4486d ago )

Ranma14486d ago

The second song is so bad....the guy who thought of the lyrics must be the same guy who said "if you get killed, you die !"

WildArmed4484d ago

Brings a tear to my eye.

FF6 OST was simply captivating.

I’m Glad Atlus & SE Changed Dates To Avoid Competing With Shadow Of The Erdtree

More intelligent than guerilla games

raWfodog13h ago(Edited 13h ago)

Atlus is releasing their game one week before Erdtree, SE is releasing theirs one week after.

HZD released four days before Zelda, HFW released one week before Elden Ring.

It seems to me like they are still releasing their games too close to Erdtree.

I find his comments around how Balan turned out to be very insightful as to why the game is trash. He basically apologises for its existence

solideagle14d ago

can you please give some of us who don't know anything about this, a summary of what happened?

Chocoburger14d ago

Balan was knowingly rushed out by S-E, it had an extremely short dev cycle and was fairly low budget.
Naka was the game's director until near the end when he was fired or perhaps he quit, I forgot.

carrotcakeag14d ago

@Chocoburger Yeah they did fire and replace him which caused him to unload a bunch of rants about the company. The project only existed because of Naka in the first place, he convinced Square to give him one shot at making a platformer. They gave him an opportunity but pulled the rug out before he was done for reasons not explained.

Please o please don't turn dragon quest into final fantasy square enix we dont wont that. Dragon quest works well just as it I. Plus you'll piss off Japanese fans to.

jznrpg17d ago

Hopefully they don’t. From this it doesn’t sound like that is the case and development is just taking too long.
