Slot machines to become more like video games

The venerable slot machine is undergoing a generational shift. For more than a century, since its invention by a German immigrant named Charles Fey in the 1890s, slot machines have required little more than cash, faith and an ability to pull a lever or push a button.

The story is too old to be commented.

in case no one has noticed they already are... I work at a Casino [dealer] and probably half the slots are more like a video game than a traditional slot machine... Matter of fact we used to have a Shinobi [Sega] slot machine [not sure if it's still there]... And a little known fact is that Konami's original specialty is actually slot machines, not games...

So casinos are turning more and more into arcades I guess.

Actually that's what I do. Video slot machines. Latest tech blows the consoles away, BTW. (the latest gen comes with 2Gig RAM, HD, and what not. IGT for example has Virtua Fighter on a slotmachine - new game coming out). So, basically, yeah, its getting closer and closer. However, there is no AI and physics involved (AI is replaced by math, physics might come - but usually not needed).
