DHGF: Samurai Sword Destiny tries to make the trek from the iOS platform to the 3DS eShop with mixed results. On the one hand, the game looks great in 3D, and the overall presentation is a step above what you would expect from a title like this. On the other hand, the only way to really succeed in the game is through cheap, repetitive actions and makes the already brief experience feel way too long. The additional modes try to give players something to do outside of the main story, but most will see all the game has to offer within a couple of hours. It’s a solid effort and one I would feel more comfortable recommending at a $1 or $2 price point. At $6 though, there is just simply too many other things that can be purchased through Virtual Console or otherwise. A little more polish would’ve gone a long way in making this a must have 3DS title.
