The Armoured Dragon community has released some new gameplay of Huxley, the upcoming Unreal Engine 3 powered MMO first person shooter for Xbox 360 and PC.
how is it looking? honestly please. EDIT: Ummm why has someone disagreed with a question?
well, the first minute shows off how u can customize ur characters to hell, it has the texture pop-in glitches found in other UE3 games (at 2:38), and it looks ok. battles look decent, kinda reminds me of UT but nothing that made me go HOLY S**T!! the level does looks insane tho, huge as hell with alot of fighting going on. and maybe its the annoying techno music thats making it bad, they couldve at least used the games sounds but instead they use a techno song that repeats for like 5 minutes. i dont see what the big deal is with this game
sounds interesting and ill check it out once im home. cheers for the replay though dude.
Hmmm.... it looks okay. It looks like it has potential to be a good game. From what they showed though... doesn't look much different than playing any of the fps we have now online. One thing that does look really good is the game world itself. It wasn't interesting enough for me to want to watch the entire vid... The music in the vid was really annoying though so that probably had something to do with it too. If they include some type of faction themes & backstory like The Agency is doing, I'll probably be more interested. But for now, The Agency is the most interesting shooter MMO coming out next year to me.
The agency!!!!!!!!Thts all i got to say
The Agency, Aion, Tabula Rasa, DC Comics, Free Realms and even more NCSoft MMORPG's are all coming Exclusively to the PS3. ;) Yeah but I have a 360 too so I could get this if I wanted... but I don't because look what I can get on my PS3 above.
Yeah, but you forgot one thing: This isn´t the PS3 section. I don´t care about what you can pull up against Huxley.
I still dont believe Microsoft can pull of the Huge amount of players they are claiming, especially with their track record of LAGGY servers and connection issues .....just stating facts
Looks interesting, though I was hoping for more opportunity for strategy.. Maybe as a sniper or a spy...
Still waiting for the 200 people on screen. Did the Huxley devs even say that?
i doubt a PC could handle that let alone a console. Currently what is the highest supportted number of player on any 360 game? i dont know, but the biggest i know of is CoD4 with 18.
Yep, that's what they said. Although that sounds pretty far fetched to me... on the 360 at least. Maybe they can do it on the PC version. We have too much lag with 16 ppl on the 360, I can't see 200. However, IF they do pull it off then this game will have a lot more appeal to me. Reading up on the different classes & weapons it has doesn't do much else to set it apart. I do like the idea of shooter based MMO's, but I think The Agency got it right... you have to have more distinct classes than heavy & light shooter! The classes in The Agency get access to a totally different variety of weapons & gadgets so that gameplay actually feels different depending on which you play with! Still... for 200 player maps, I'd be willing to give it a try!
PCs can handle that no problem, the pc game planetside can have 399 people per room and the game came out in 2003 and cod4 for the 360 used to be 24 players in grounds wars, i guess the servers got raped, even the box i have for the games says 2-24 players
yeah i realise there are PC games which support that number, but this is (from what ive seen) basically a FPS game, i just cant imagine running the Unreal Engine with that many players on maps that size with out issues like LAG. maybe im wrong though, it remains to be seen. If its "no problem" for PC's then why doesnt UT3 support such huge numbers? although, through the "console key" you can put upto 50 bots on and its fine. oh im going well off topic here but if you have UT3 try out the slow-mo cheat, its great fun.... HEAD SHOT....
I am assuming this game will go the route of Final Fantasy XI and actually have dedicated servers...if that is the case then yes...200 is realistic. As for the speculation on the max game size so far... I do believe it belongs to....... COD3 not 4. 24 players (12 per side). That is the largest games so far I have seen on the 360 outside of Final Fantasy XI.
If its "no problem" for PC's then why doesnt UT3 support such huge numbers? although, through the "console key" you can put upto 50 bots on and its fine. oh im going well off topic here but if you have UT3 try out the slow-mo cheat, its great fun.... HEAD SHOT.... u have a point there, but even if it IS the UE3 engine, developers can decrease poly count in models and environments to support more characters, no one said the game has to look like GoW or UT3, square enix is making an rpg using UE3 called the last remnant, arent their rpgs usually with alot of characters onscreen?..i dunno, i could be wrong. im just hoping for the 200 players part to be true =P
i guess we'll have to just wait and see. Hopefully they pull it off!
Just as a point of reference the 2-24 figure on the box for Call of Duty 4 is the maximum number of players available over System Link, not Xbox Live (which is 18 on Ground War).
Had 2-32 players online with no lag what so ever the dev's said the engine would support 50 players online but stopped at 32 for balancing the gameplay.
This game reminds me of Quake a little with the tight hallway type battles.
Then when it releases tell the public it doesn't...they'll get screwed lol But I still Don't know about the 100v100 thing but if they say it 100v100 then sure I'll belive it...for now...
First off, I'm a sony kind of guy. But I'm by no means a fanboy that can't recognize when the competition might have something good. Now with Huxley, in theory, a fps/ mmo hybrid game actually sounds pretty good. Now after seeing the game footage. It just seems average to me. It doesn't look like it sucks. It just seems sort of bland at this point. But the game is still early and that was a youtube video. So I'll reserve final judgment until the game's release. I just have a feeling that this game might be one of those "Be careful what you wish for, cus you might get it" kind of things. What I mean is sure most of us probably wanted a fps/mmo hybrid game. But when the idea is actually brought to life, the final product might not be as good as we hoped. But as I said before, the game is early and it's not like any of us has actually played it yet. So judgments can't be made yet.
Your kind of right.I will reserve my judgment till much better gameplay footage is shown. If they do deliver on the promises then this could be big.
If not. I'll just have to get a new graphics card and up the Ram to 8gb [1gb for Vista? pffft]
but we dont want it but the power of the CELL makes anything possible the AGENCY unlimited players smarten up people PLAY BEYOND
perfect dark zero is 32 player on live and battlefied was 24 on live and it wasent any lag so what is you talking about and its lag on pc and ps3 like lag dosent assist any where else becouse is xbox is lag i dont notice any lag only when new player join or player quit but in clear up and a few seconds
another FPS for the 360. What will they think of next. :P. Let me go puke some more. No wonder I dont want this piece of crap system. All they have is shooters.
hehe... I bet you actually think Mass Effect is also a FPS... Let me go puke some more... You are just mad because the last two years.. the best game of the year were two FPS on the xbox 360.. and the best PS3 game COD4 is also a FPS which is also available on the xbox 360... No wonder I dont want this piece of crap system. All they have is blu-ray movies.
the real reason I don't want it is because I don't want a system that will break down on me. Why pay all that money for something that is gonna constantly overheat. I dont get it. MS can make a computer last for days on end without turning it off, but they cant make a freakin game system that will last more than a year without breaking. This is why I don't buy junk.
you lost your chance with your first post. Bye, bye.
The reason why xbox FPS games are limited in number is because your system has to act as the server. in an MMO where you have to pay a monthly fee there will be dedicated servers. also, the graphics engine is the UE3 engine but this company wrote it's own layer to support large numbers of players. it's the limits of the individual system that keeps the number of players so low.
