Microsoft 'cock blocking' Stranger's Wrath XBLA release

Just Add Water has accused Microsoft of 'cock blocking' the Xbox Live Arcade release of Oddworld: Stranger's Wrath HD. (Just Add Water, Microsoft, Oddworld: Stranger's Wrath, Xbox 360)

i believe MS is doing this out of pure spite

It's kinda hard to not come to that conclusion after all this information has come out.

Why are they trying so hard??
I mean yeah we as XBL gamers are loosing a Gem but why are they pestering MS for this game to release on XBL?? Are they not confident this title will sell on PSN as well as they thought it would??

well, because it's better to have your software on many platforms as possible.why limit yourself when can collect extra profit.

Well then they should of thought about that in the first place. Rather than just Advertising it for the Ps3 on day one. If the game would have been advertised for BOTH PS3 and 360 from the get go. They wouldnt be having these types of problems. Now they are feeling the ramifications of treating the Xbox as an after thought.

But yet that wasn't the case the first time out back in January 25, 2005 when published by EA.

Who published on PSN? Can't they do the publishing on XBLA?
IronFistChinMi  +   994d ago
I believe that Sony allowed them to self-publish on PSN, Microsoft rules state that XBLA releases must have a publisher. I agree that it's a hard-line stance, but I think this is their way of maintaining 3rd party publisher support and keeping those relationships healthy.

Fact is, Jaw need Microsoft more than Microsoft need them, so they'll find that publisher eventually.

Good job Microsoft! It's just extra cash in your pockets. I would have bought it.
