NVidia Shows Skyrim Running on a Tablet, Nerdgasms Had by All

Joel Taveras writes, "This week the technology world is descending into Las Vegas, Nevada for the annual Consumer Electronics Show (CES). Today marks the first day of what will be undoubtedly be a week full of hot tech demos and announcements. During NVidia’s press conference (which just wrapped up) company CEO Jen-Hsun Huang took the stage to show off what kind of tricks their latest mobile processor, the Tegra 3, can pull off." (Dev, Industry, Mobile, NVIDIA, Tech, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim)

In the words of Victor Sullivan

"Well I'll be go to hell"

Thats really impressive.... although 10 bucks says it runs better than the PS3 version of Skyrim....

Bethesda does not care about us

It's not impressive at all, they were running it by a stream through something similar to onlive. The title should be "nVidia shows Skyrim video on a tablet".

actually it is somewhat impressive, Splashtop is a great app but to play games smoothly is a different story due to some lag, so seems like it works even better with a more powerful hardware.

Tegra 3 its a beast! Its going to be one hell of a fight between the latest Tegra and Arm processors.
Abriael  +   1231d ago
The more they fight, the better for us, like intel and AMD.

Tegra 3 is ARM based.

Tegra 3 is using Quad-Core ARM Cortex A9 CPU, same as PS Vita CPU, but with less GHz on each core.

Not impressed. My older laptop can actually RUN skyrim. Tablets are cool though for people who don't mind giving up control, options, power, etc. for a "gimmicky" screen.

Tablets are also cool for people who don't mind paying more for less because they don't feel cool enough already.

I suppose some people might have legitimate reasons to purchase them though.

I'd hope a tablet has youtube on it... lmfao!

while impressive if actually true it dont matter. No real controls = irrelevent

You can plug a usb game controller (ps3 or 360 or some pc gamepad) into the tablet. Android has support for them.

streaming does not equal running on. the PC is running it. not impressed
admiralthrawn87  +   1231d ago
considering skyrim has graphics from last gen, in some cases worse, this isn't impressive. Write an article once The Witcher 2 is running on a tablet.
jthamind  +   1231d ago
lol. you read my mind.
ginsunuva  +   1231d ago
It doesn't run on the tablet, it just gets streamed (like a youtube video) from a pc to the tablet. The pc runs it, tablet shows it. The only thing the tablet must process is the video resolution.
It's like saying your computer can play a youtube vid about skyrim but you can't play a video of the witcher.
