I really wish the PS Suite and the recent acquisition of Ericsson's stake in Sony Ericsson will de-fragment some of Sony's products and services. I would love for my Xperia Play to have access to PSN and PSN content like PSOne classics for example (currently I'm using fPse). Just like I would like to see Android on Vita.
Luckily, Kaz Hirai was the one that was spearheading the push for connectivity between Sony products for example having the XMB in Bravia TV's as well as Vita's connectivity with PS3.
That's his vision for Sony, and now that he's the president, I can see what you want happening gradually over the next few years. I think it's something all companies need to adopt. Hell even Microsoft are doing it. Unification of devices keeps customers attached to the brand. It's why Apple sells the most PC's (hardware), sells the most MP3 players and sells the most handsets.
For me, when I buy products, save for my phone and laptop, I buy Sony and the compatibility between say, my Camera,TV and PS3 is really nice.
I'm looking forward to all of those titles you mentioned except for MotorStorm RC.. I'm sure the game will still be great fun but I wish that it could of been a full-blown MotorStorm PS3-type of title instead of some mini-top down version.
Maybe in the near future Vita's life cycle, Evolution will make one.. Maybe, Let's hope so anyway.
Actually motorstorm rc is one of if not the first title that is on both the ps3 and vita.. I'm almost positive that I read that in either game informer or PTOM... If I can find the link I will post...
at moparful99 actually Motorstorm RC is a psn title that happens to be on Vita and ps3 lol but its not a full-blown BRUTAL Motorstorm game , i think the next motorstorm game should be a "Motorsorm Worldwide Festival" featuring exotic locations from all over the globe and even water , imagine racing on moving boats ?
$349 australian for the base model no memory card is not very appealing thats for sure id pay $150 so it will be a while before i get one the psp will do till then.
If i have problems with a device i like to take it back to the store i got it from plus different power cords i think that price will hurt the console sales here not everyone imports you have less consumer power or it takes longer to get things resolved.
Fair enough about the tech support aspect but the power cords are no problem, just get an adapter, should be fine.
I suppose i'm willing to take that risk of importing, just as many people have already done from japan. Some online retailers(if not most) will have some sort of warranty in place, but yeah it would take a while to be resolved most likely.
Also if your worried about price. just wait till the date gets closer im sure aussie retailers will start dropping deals offering better value for money.
Also, I would say the internet offers more consumer power in the form of choice, especially in Australia.
EB are a bunch of rip off merchants, charging bloody $110 for ps3 games when Kmart are selling them for $72 or there around.
I've imported many games and had no problem, quick response in relation to delays, and the only problem I had was with region locked DLC which was resolved with the creation of a Hong kong PSN account.
