We review Saints Row: The Third
I hear almost nothing but praise for this game, but I still have a really hard time seeing any appeal to it. I'll just have to rent it sometime, I guess.
I was in the the same boat, but decided to pull the trigger. It turns out that SR3 is an absolutely great/highly entertaining game with a very good story line. (Vehicle and shooting mechanics a very pleasant surprise ) The challenges are also fun and does not become as tired as one might think. In short the game was so enjoyable that I decided to platinum it. ...and will gladly pr-order SR the fourth if I was available to do so at this moment. Long story short....don't rent it (if you have a choice ) buy it and give the developers some love. They did a great job. Forgive any typos as I sent this from my phone.
as a person who played the previous games, SR3 is lackluster. It does NOT deserve a 9.7 because customization is watered down, there are less activities(with some that are basically the same thing like tank mayhem and regular mayhem), some cutscenes and activities are disguised as missions, they(volition) treat fan favorite characters with disrespect, all of the major baddies have terrible finales, and worst of all, some of the stuff advertised as on the disc( warrior pack for example) is sold as on the disk DLC.
I've never been bored with a game so quickly. SR3 was cool for about an hour. Now I can't even play it for 10 minutes without getting depressed. I had way more fun with SR2.
Damn I wanna play this game
