Treyarch + WWII = Trash.
The blactivision effect will kill off this IP.
Here's hoping Battlefield does things right...
you don`t have to hope.
will HAVE TO hold me over until Call of Duty 6.
now we have to kill japanese but same guns
im looking forward to this one but you all know americans will dominate
I want to play as the Japanese for once, hell even the Germans as well. It won't be as glorious playing the losing side but it'll be a change of pace.
And please....do not start stuff like "You damn Jap" or "You Nazi" with me. I just want to experience something different from the Call of Duty series.
im sure if they have decent story telling they can pull something off like the movie " all quiet on the western front" the story told from the nazi side of world war I....... but damn why go back to world war 2 :(
edit: your right YOME .....i meant the germans.
Tell the story from the Japanese point of view.
if it was done well without stereotypes, then I would get it.
@4.1 actually there were no Nazis in WWI, that was in WWII.
Edit: Whose the idiot that disagreed? The Nazi party didn't existed until Hitler came into power. There was NO Nazis before WWI...god go read a book.
Letters from Iwo Jima?
they seroiusly need call of duty vietnam
Lol I'm from there. I would sure love to shoot me some of them damn VietCongs. Battlefield Vietnam just doesn't cut it for me, Call of Duty: Vietnam would be most welcomed by me.
Surfer Girl....??? lol....
oh guess its battlefield and killzone next year then o_O...
I guess its true that it isnt coming to the PC to then? stupid move...
I'm waiting on CoD4 for xmas, getting UT3 tomorrow, and still loving Resistance.
But none of that even matters because Oblivion GOTYE still has me by the balls.
I remember the Medal of Honor series went this direction after being successful with reproducing the ETO...Result was EPIC fail.
I expect nothing more from Treyarch
....They are using CoD4 engine, if Treyarch is in development of a new engine for CoD5 its goin to be rubbish...
Taking Call of Duty 5 back to WWII but in the Pacific might not be such a bad thing. It's a part of WWII that Call of Duty hasn't touched yet. We'd get new weapons to use, on both sides (there where several weapons in the hands of the US Marines that got used almost exclusively on the Pacific front, like the Reising SMG, the Johnson rifle, Johnson Machinegun, they even used the Springfield as a main line weapon instead of the Garand for awhile, ie not with a scope). It wouldn't be too bad.
Medal of Honour: Pacific Assault went into the campaign a few years ago on PC, and the single player wasn't too bad. Not a grade A game, but not terrible either. Far too linear. But it was definately a much different feel then their Medal of Honour games.
One thing I don't get though: why was Call of Duty 3 even considered "Call of Duty 3". I mean, all the prior Treyarch/non-Infinity Ward games where pretty much just given titles and not included in the main Infinity Ward numbering scheme. Finest hour and "The Big Red One" from before weren't given a proper number scheme, so how did Treyarch's Call of Duty 3 become Call of Duty 3? It never even appeared on PC. As far as I'm concerned, COD4 is COD3, and the current COD3 is just another side game like the others before it.
Call of Duty: Time Trooper
Go back in time like the Roman era with Machine guns blazing!
NNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOO WW2? are you serious its been done to death my god, NO What are you thinking????
How about Desert Storm? Something modern WW@ means nothing to us now, its OLD.
This game is going to die before its even officially announced.
CoD4 is one of the best FPS ever made... why the hell would they go back in time? Garbage.
Call of duty 2 is the best wwII game ever made. But why tease us how badass modern times can be with cod4 and then go back to what we use to play?
No more WW2 BS!!!! Revisit it in 10 years!! Give me COD Vietnam, Desert Storm, Desert shield, Balkans, Yugoslavia, Sudan, Congo, Nile Delta or something original!! WTf!
The A holes making this game should conduct a focus group! Im sure the overwhelming result will be leave the WW2 games alone for now!
YOure so right! They should cover the Serbian-Croatian war, or Kosovo, ANYTHING but ww2,
Correction: they wont make a game ever in africa, all of the black rights people will start to b!tch...sigh* anyone remember how the makers of RE5 are apparently "racist" for creating black zombies?
I actually really enjoyed Call of Duty 3 personally. After playing Call of Duty 4 though... I really hoped either they would try out the modern era or try the Vietnam war or something. They could make some awesome jungle battles. I do think this programmer is very good though.
NExt thing you know, theyre going to tell us that the game will consist entirely of MELEE weapons.
Or how about Call of Duty: American Revolution. We can line up and exchange volly's for hours upon end...what fun that would be
lmao. I wonder if they would cancel the game if they saw how much hate it's getting. Seriously, NO ONE WILL BUY THIS GARBAGE. COD4 is just TOO good. No one wants another one, especially another WWII clone from the douches who made COD3.
why not make a CoD 5: Korea why stick with WWII. i think 3 was enough not counting the slew of other games that were focused around WWII.
Infinity Ward works on a new Engine and later hands it over to Treyarch.
LOL I'm sure it will be a HUGE seller in Japan! Most of them dont know a damn thing about WWII. Jap Govt are all Bastards. Better be a flamethrower in the mix.
Yes!!! the Korean war would be great!!!! A sea of whistle blowing Chinese swarming at you like ants! MMMmmm good times.
Apparently hes never played MOH: Rising Sun.
could be interesting...Chemical warfare, trench warfare, tons of barbed wire, the introduction of tanks and automatic weapons... sounds like hell...
